No, much further south near Costa Calma. We hired a car which I would strongly recommend if your the explorer type as so many secluded hidden gems outside the main tourist resorts (which we found a bit rubbish)
This is the beach... Sotavento (and it actually looks like this in real life!)

Probably the most underated place in the Canaries. Beaches are mind blowingly beutiful and at this time of year it's still quite hot too.
Make sure you check out the lagoons on the south east coast, lovely white sands, crystal clear seas, not a person for miles and fish swimming about your feet... just don't go swimming in the sea on the other side of the sand bank or you will end up getting washed out to Africa.
Great price, to say I am tempted is an understatement

No mind blowing beaches at Nuevo Horizonte, in fact there isn't hardly anything at Nuevo Horizonte, a 15min walk will get you to Caleta (a nice quiet resort).

known as the windy island - and with good reason. Been once, no interest in returning.

It was never really a problem for us but we went in August when it was hitting 34c and the light breeze came as a bit of a relief, I guess it depends on when you go. At the moment it's between 10-15mph, nothing that can't be remedied with a good old windbreak. Just take a jacket as in winter it may get a bit chilly after dark.

I know ain't it a bitch to have a nice gentle sea breeze taking the edge of those blistering temperatures!

Loved Fuerteventura. Would love to go back. Went last year but with 2 kids it can get quite expensive.
Great price for this though.

would absolutely recommend going room only as prices are so cheap in the bars and restaurants to eat out somewhere different every night. drinks are also very cheap. don't restrict yourself to the hotel unless you absolutely want to

Problem is, this is christmas period and accommodation prices are hiked so you could pay less but not much less I believe. For those, I would go and check flights at Thomson Airways as they were slighlt;y cheaper than Easyjet, but again not too many rooms left anywhere.

Nice find heading to fuerteventura friday, can't wait  went last Christmas and couldn't recommend it enough. Most all inclusive hotels have Christmas Gala on the 25th.

Remember it excludes check in baggage and transfers. If you compare a proper "package deal" this would add at least an extra £130, equating to £750 for 2. You may not need to check in luggage and accept you need to buy razors, etc. It is also a 3* hotel. No entertainment etc. It also looks very dated.
It is not a bad price, but not great. There were 4* deals on Thomas Cook for similar and lower prices over the past 8 weeks to Canaries.
Prices seem to be low this year and massive price changes on Thomson. Eg from £420 per person for a 24 hour AI to £700 for the same holiday (per person) on the same dates. First Choice prices were cheaper than Thomson (same group).

My favourite island (I've been about 10 times) but avoid the hotel listed here because it's in a residential area with lots of partly built developments around it and the nearest beach or proper tourist area is a fairly long walk away in Caleta.

I take my Wilkinson or Gillette razor as hand luggage regularly and never had problems. Put it in my clear toilet bag with everything else.
