Most people are going to be spending time with friends and family and getting fed. The lonely and homeless people this benefits will be the only and best present they could wish for.

Other lonely and sad people who have internet access will do nothing of any worth but spend time on the internet, alone between bouts of onanism.

Is that how you view this gesture? As a means of getting hundreds/thousands through the doors as a result?

What typically starts off as a small note in the window, is then via word of mouth passed on to other media outlets - who have effectively hijacked the gesture...

This is the third deal of this type I've seen so far. Great idea and well done to those people who are doing this they deserve all the praise and respect they get.
For some reason thou I don't really think that this is the correct place for this type of deal. Surely this has been advertised locally within the areas concerned to the very people they are aiming such an idea at already . Not sure what sharing nationally achieves. Perhaps a new community of local section may be in order for such ideas

Firstly, how is it free for them to do this? They will be paying out of their own pocket for the ingredients and the running costs to open their establishment. Secondly, if they didn't tell anyone that they were doing it how would those who might benefit know to go there? Thirdly, before you **** anyone off for being generous and caring, please tell us what you have done to help the disadvantaged in your community this Christmas?

The guys in there are down to earth and not surprised that they are helping the community out.

It should be more like this rather than elderly and homeless having to scupper for Xmas dinner on their own as they have family who only wants gifts but not actually want their presence.

It is aimed at free advertising! If somebody wants to do something like this there is no need to shout it from the rooftops, nice to see true altruism is well and truly dead in that town!

one of the chippy's/cafe in rhyl did a free christmas dinner for the homeless for years the owner is not doing it this year because they were saying can't we have beer instead of the meal and can't we have money instead of the food it's the first year for chilli pink to do it, lets see if they do it again!

It may be another one I'm thinking of but I think the owners said if it goes well, they'd try and do it it something like once a month.

There is a free Christmas meal happening in plymouth but you need to book ahead/call the organiser -search plymouth Christmas meal davie hall. Mostly for elderly or anyone who would be alone on Xmas day.
