Palgrave Macmillan are offering £30 off on ANY print or eBook in their range until December 31st! This includes titles which cost under £30, of which I found plenty. As far as I can see, there's no way to sort by price, but I just ctrl+f searched for £2 and £3 so it would show me any books that were £20-30ish on each page.
Successfully placed an order, didn't have to enter any payment details and have received a confirmation email, so fingers crossed!
Edit: This website offers a bookmarklet to filter out books over £30 (and also apparently how to get more than one free book, though I haven't tried that myself) - https://hackmillan.github.io/

Their Twitter account has reported on the issue "Sorry to those experiencing issues with our £30 holiday promo code - working to find out what's going on, so stay tuned."
I do wonder if like you say, they realised it was open to abuse. A mistake like that could hit a company hard if 10s of thousands of people pick up on it.

Someone on Twitter just suggested the code: HLDY16S - my sister's just tried it and it's worked!
And I received my original order today, so looks like they are fulfilling them! :smiley:

I think you've answered your own question there. It's because the intelligence of the average (not all, fortunately) HUKD member isn't much beyond reading the big letters on that Mars bar, let alone any of the Palgrave Macmillan titles. :wink:
