But you never own those games. Once your sub runs out you lose all the games you got from ea access.

Gamerscore really confused me at first - I didn't understand the difference between that and Microsoft Points (because I didn't see why they charged 'points' for DLC that you had to buy for real currency when they could have just charged real currency, which they switched to eventually). So I thought that, if you played through a game and got enough achievements, you could use your gamescore points to buy extra maps, cars, fancy hats, etc., basically unlocking in-game items as you played but with a choice of what to unlock based on how many points you had (which is the way some games do it, Uncharted for example). When I realised that you had to spend real money to buy something like, oh, say horse armour, I was pretty disgusted. So yeah, gamerscore isn't really anything more than a quick way to see how many achievements you've got and compare with other people - and if that's something you're interested in you would do a full list comparison anyway. I am an achievement completionist with some games - those that I really like and want to do everything there is to do, so I use the achievements as a 'to do' list, but I really don't care what my total gamescore number is.

No probs, like others have said, USB 3 and anything 1TB or over, I really wouldn't go any lower than that, and you won't go wrong.

I went for one of these amazon.co.uk/Ele…BH8 Got it for £55 Amazon lightning deal though. 1TB might be enough, but I thought 2TB minimum to be on the safe side.

Strongly disagree. I like neither and for £20 a year it's fantastic value for what's left (considering a few BC games are now included). You are being a contrarian deliberately and I dislike it. Uncle Mike has spoken.

nice one - just getting back into gaming on console and this helped add quite a few extra bits to games I picked up in the Black Friday and Christmas sales

Either click through links and sign into your live account, that you signed up your XBL account with and click download on the website, or just search each one individually on your Xbox One console store.

How do you get the free items, I can't figure it out on the Xbox one ??? Sorry new to this console

If you want to type out all 388 free items feel free and I will add it to the post, but you will have to scan the whole xbox store to keep it updated like the site does but I think the link is the better option

Probably easier if you could just pot the list on here, without having to go through pages of stuff. Hot never the less.

Most if not all of these are not free games - they're "free to play" which any experienced gamer will know is not the same thing.
I'm not saying it's not worth playing any of them but that distinction is an important one.

It's almost as if that's EA's business model. The 10 hour trials are decent though. 10 hours of Battlefield 1 a week before release was great. And 10 hours of the latest FIFA release is usually enough to not then have to buy it. FIFA 17 will hit the vault in July. If you're happy to wait that it's worth it

27 Dec 16#42
ALSO remember people the game Lost Odyssey is being given away for free only until the end of December. This is a proper big game and one you don't want to miss out on! The download size is 22.4 GB so it is a biggy for a 360 game!

You started getting gamerscore points 4 years before they came up with them? Damn you got an early start. Also only 10,000? I don't play that many games on 360 and Xbone and I have about 27,000. Those 80 Xbone games alone should have about 1000 points each.

Most of these are extra bits to full games that you'd still have to buy (extra cars in driving games, extra costumes for fighting games etc.) - there's a full game called 'Dorito's crash course' that might entertain them for a bit but if they're quite young generally you can't go wrong with one of the LEGO games. In fact, there's demos for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, LEGO Hobbit, Lego Avengers, Lego Marvel Heroes, Lego Batman 3 and Lego Jurassic World on this list somewhere.
If you've connected the Xbox One to the internet you can search on the store on the xbox itself or log in to your account on the Xbox website and add stuff that way.
EDIT: Comment above mine by dr_spaceman has good suggestions as well

Had ea access trial a while back, considering purchasing a year. Most of the games are old tat or just crap. For example battlefront, UFC, deadspace(!), fifa 14/15/16 etc. Dragonage is worth a play and battlefield was alright - hadn't finished either. Not a patch on origin access sadly.

i think so. for quite a few hunters, it's literally the only reason they start a game and won't move on until they have 100% it. I'm not that hardcore but I do have a fair few I have done this to and actively seek out a rough average per week for my own sense of achievement.
it is also one of the things MS look at when giving away free stuff to loyal fans each year so it goes outside of your own collection's sake.

Recently started playing a free game called Trove. It's only been out a week or so on X1.
It's essentially an MMORPG version of Minecraft with a Borderlands style loot system. I'd certainly recommend checking it out, especially since it's only 1.4gb

I caveat that to new owners who like sports games. As that's what half the vault is. If you don't like shooters either then you've very little left!
Great value if you enjoy both games though.
Personally I'd be grabbing gold for the monthly free games myself.
I am new in this? I see many free stuffs? But what is it abt? I am looking for my kids to download these deals as 2players with extra controller. So suggestions guys for newie mum here?

First port of call for new owners should be EA Access. £20 a year and opens up a huge back catalog of games. Vault games are playable whilst you have a subscription, and new EA games have a 10 hour trial. And then there's a 10% discount on EA games that you buy digitally.
