It says limited edition in the description but the picture doesn't match. Anyone had it delivered yet or picked it up that can confirm if it is definitely the special edition?

The product description is for the special edition and details the extras you get with the special edition:
Football Manager 2017 Limited Edition will include Football Manager Touch 2017 for free (on PC, Mac or Linux) and, as a further thank you for your purchase, you will also get a range of free downloadable content for Touch including 'Board override', 'No firing', 'All job applications', 'National management' and 3 brand new challenges to play in the 'Challenge' game mode.

Quick question. Does this come wth a download code? I don't have a disc drive for my Mac

8 Dec 16#18
ALL Football Manager has to be activated via Steam. You can then download the full game from Steam. :sunglasses:

Install steam and redeem code that will be in the case.

I have an i7 laptop built in gfx but says online it isn't up to recommended spec!
since when does this need high end pcs.
anyone run this on relatively standard computers?

Just run it with the 2D pitch. 3D isn't that great imo. Great game as always.

Where does it say that? Official specs say the minimum end is an Intel GMA X3100, can't be worse than that surely?

Great find, why am I ordering, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of last years

8 Dec 16#17
This is BELOW TRADE PRICE.
I believe Sega have to shift the Ltd Ed by a certain time or else it is deemed 'not ltd'. Sega also ballsed up the launch stock so this might be bulk deals to national retailers to clear the now freeflowing stock supply. Amazon dropped from £32.99 to £24.99. Now Tesco to £18?!
It won't go cheaper. It will run out.

Sorry to sound thick so is this a disc or a download?

Disc but the code to redeem will be in the case. Install steam (Google steam.com) and then redeem the code within that.

It has a disk that you can use to install the game to minimise the downloading, but if you don't have a dvd drive you can just download.
Intel hd4000 so should be OK. can't remember where I downloaded the checker from. pfft

Must not buy...
Good price
It is about time they made the grounds look real on the inside in 3d mode, So annoying they have all the FL stuff but do not bother to make the grounds look real, it would add to FM so much and would be easy for them to make models of all the grounds, Seeing my team score at bramall lane or eland road would add to fm so much
HacKage to lcf202
9 Dec 16#38
Yea, it would be really easy for them to create accurate 3D models of every football stadium of every team in the game...
lcf202
9 Dec 16#39
It really would be, they do not need to be 100% accurate, just make the inside look right and basic and once they have done it once, they would have the models for every year.
Looking at some of the things that normal players have added to other pc games like planet coaster, a college kid could make them all in a few months I am willing to bet.

What is FM touch?

9 Dec 16#41
Just to point out this is £18.41 at Argos, although the price is higher on their site. I had a £5 off coupon so £13.41 bargain! Just purchased instore at Crayford. Plus it is the special edition too! Might come in handy for those that have a voucher as I know they are being chugged out at the tills in Sainsburys at the moment.

Sorry to be dumb but could you post a link? I can only find it for £20.99 at Argos. Unless the price has now gone up...

Is this only PC version? Looking at the amazon option and seems to have a specific option for mac/steam code
Can anyone confirm the code in this option will work on steam for mac?

If you zoom in on the box art photo in the top left, it would indicate that it is pc and mac (& Linux). Thinking back as far as I can remember, FM always used to be dual format on disc so can't imagine this will be different with this years release.

9 Dec 16#47
So you reserved it at £20.99 & when you went to pay for it at the till the price was £18.41? Sorry, I'm just double checking so that I can give it a go tomorrow. Otherwise I'll just order using Prime for Sunday delivery. Thanks.

See my comment above. No stock in my local but had 8 left in the huge store (luckily I rang ahead). Not on the shelf though, had to ask at the 'electrics desk' as they had them at the back.

Price is about right and I have enough clubcard vouchers to get it free, but I have so much coming up that I will not have any spare time for most of the next month (house move) that I have to resist otherwise this will get played and I will end up squatting in a sold house

Anyone know how I can use this on a mac without a disk drive?
I can use a shared optical drive, but do not want to need to use that each time I want to start the game.
