When I did this last year the samples were pretty decent, enough to get a week's or so use out of them. Like, an inch high to two inches high mini bottles and tubes, none of this sachet stuff.

I got the £20 skin set which contains 3 items, pretty nifty getting 3 decent items for just £20 and then the minis are or my family. Bargain.

You have to laugh at some of the prices, which are so inflated they can afford to give these samples away. £15.50 for a deodorant stick man, howay!
