Looks like the original HR's are being phased out and are sold out in most places now :disappointed:

Grrrr my daughter wants the Fitbit Alta for Christmas - if I got this, wonder if she'd notice the difference...

Pretty sure it says to not wear it in the shower? Mines never gone bear the shower except maybe once where I realise almost straight away that I've not taken it off lol

Got mine for £49.99 in 2015 black friday sales. Having worn mine for a year, and being on my 2nd replacement, I'd strongly recommend you get the HR 2. Google "fitbit charge hr band bubble". Air seems to get into the band bubbles under the material, hence my replacements, even with care and cleaning.

thanks. I've reserved one but will do some proper research before I maybe go ahead and buy. Plus with some I get confused with some descriptions if it's just the wristband I'm buying.... I've not had a fitness tracker before but really would like one!

I had exactly the same problem. To be fair, Fitbit sent me a replacement with no questions asked.

Sorry OP but voted cold as I have a Pebble that this shower have just made worthless and warranty free. Fitbit are c****.
It's not like if I personally bought out Pebble for £40 million.
I thought this site was to give people a heads up on a good deal, my mistake.

I went through 4 of these within a year! great customer service by fitbit replacing each knee for free but they obviously know of the problems & would only cover a year so I ended up getting a full refund from Amazon.
never wore mine in water, shower or tightly & every single one the metal bubbled & cracked & the rubber peeled off.
I have now had an xiaomi mi band 2 for 4 months & its fantastic! seems even more accurate than the fitbit, battery lasts an astounding 7 weeks & all for £20! plus you can replace the outer bands for 99p

lol made in China xiaomi band 2 you don't need to take them off before shower. I also used my made in China mi band 2 in swimming pool (2metres depth) and still works fine no clouding nor fade...

I'm on my 3rd Fitbit in just over a year.
Tips - take it off before getter no in the shower. This reduces bubbling on strap and potential rash on wrist.
NEVER wear it in the pool, not even once! Or the display will cloud over and fade.
Wear it slightly looser to count steps more accurately and reduces risk of rash.
Buy a cheap sleeve to cover the strap near to the display.
Snap it up at this price! Unless you go for the charge hr 2 which looks good.

I bought mine last year around this time (£49 at Argos if I remember correctly) and it's been awesome since then. No problems at all. I'm hoping it drops more as I'd like to get one for my daughter.
