Final Fantasy 12 HD Remake for the PS4, it says the release date is 31/12/2016 but I'm pretty sure this is just a placeholder date so please do not expect it on that date! It should be released early 2017.
Great price for a great game.
FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE improves upon the 2006 classic FINAL FANTASY XII, now more beautiful and easier to play than ever. The high-definition remaster introduces several modern advancements, including reconstructed battle design and a revamped job system. With newly implemented trophies and share functions, as well as stark visual and sound improvements in true HD for the first time, players both returning and new to the game will experience a grand adventure that spans the world of Ivalice in an entirely fresh and improved way.
Enter an era of war within the world of Ivalice. The small kingdom of Dalmasca, conquered by the Archadian Empire, is left in ruin and uncertainty. Princess Ashe, the one and only heir to the throne, devotes herself to the resistance to liberate her country. Vaan, a young man who lost his family in the war, dreams of flying freely in the skies. In a fight for freedom and fallen royalty, join these unlikely allies and their companions as they embark on a heroic adventure to free their homeland.
I'm pretty sure it's out mid 2017 but either way I'm looking forward to it.
They need to do IX next. The best PS1 game

Didnt even know this was happening, after playing FF 7 to 10 I never got in with 12, gave it about 20 minutes and hated the battle system so much I never touched it again but having now played 13 and onwards I'd probably be tempted to go back and give it another chance, £30 is still a bit much for a ps2 rehash though imo

I came here to say this, basically, loved the design of the game but the battle system was woeful.

Same opinion as me. Loved FF up to 12. Hated real time battle. Used to it now as they don't really use turn based anymore so will give it another go.

This is a very good game, however this is not a deal as it is pretty much the normal price for the game

Well, of course it's my opinion - and i also included some facts
Here is more opinion
I've finished the story now and it's an utter mess, . you would think they could employ people to make a decent story, this one is a confused shambles! :disappointed:
I can't explain exactly why as i don't want to spoil the game for others! - but suffice to say they are patching in some new cutscenes to explain some parts.
Anyway, the game here is XII and i look forward to playing it as i stopped playing these at X, however £30 is a bit pricey for a HD remake imo, so will wait till the price drops a bit

You make great points of your own opinion.
But personally I think any game that can reach over the 15th (well over including all spin offs) in a series is going to have to change things up (throwable magic bombs) meh not the best idea but it fits with the flow of the game.
They've had to create something new and craft a full world and story to run along with it, instead of just rehashing the same overused formula, I personally think it is amazing.
I challenge you to name a game for me where the side quests are not basically just talk to this person, get this, kill that.
Overall they've done great in making a new game / experience for players just like they wanted, they've tried new things which are always hit and miss with different groups (Materia, Draw from FF8, Sphere Grids) if they did it the same everytime people would moan about that.
I used to love Assassin's Creed, but they literally just lay the same game over different areas, with a slight story tweak, at least Square have made something new from the ashes of old.
But hey it's just my opinion and you are welcome to disagree.

I actually really enjoyed XII on my second playthrough - first without a guide, second time with. The camera is a little restrictive but the story is pretty solid and the characters likeable.
VI would be my favourite if its random encounter rate wasn't so high. If you're new to the series, XII isnt by any means a bad one to start with, but personally if you're giving the series one chance to impress you start with IX or VII (or wait for the VII remake)

Some fair comments, but I am also close to 70 hours in but still only at chapter 5 and have loved every minute with FFXV. It's in my top 5 FF games now;
1. FFVIII
2. FFVII
3. FFX
4. FFXV
5. FFXII

Absolutely amazing? I wouldn't go that far.
The story from chapter 9 onwards is poor, and a very short story, the main characters are dull and look like rejects from a vampire gothic fancy dress party. The side missions are alll fetch this, fetch that, kill this, kill that... zzzz
The graphics are very primary in places, and that's even with HDR enabled
The fighting system is rather uninteresting, i used to love the materia system on FFVII, and turn based.
This game feels more like monster hunter meets dynasty warriors, and the magic system has been converted into throwable bombs? meh
it's a bit tedious imo, and the character development is weak! and you only really control one of them
The night and day system is also annoying
It's still not a bad game, but it certainly isn't 'amazing' by any stretch of the imagination
I'm 60 hours in, so have had a good play of this

I did like this game and spent a lot of time playing it. However it's really flawed and is frustrating to play. The characters are forgettable and uninteresting. It's like they forgot to give them personalities. The battle system is the only good thing about this game and that's only if you have the patience to grind for the special items. The voice acting is a joke as well.
The worst thing about this game is the storyline. The main character might as well not even be there. You could replace him with a lemon. Come to think of it a lot of those characters in your party could have just disappeared and you wouldn't have noticed. Also the game has no 'big villian', so you're asking yourself what's the point of all this.

The last great ff game. The battle system is amazing. See once u nail the gambits and roles of ur party, ur absolutey laughing. U should only need to intervene on rare occasions. Essentially u can run about witjj controller in one hand.

You need to play FFXV, it is absolutely amazing, I would also recommend watching Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive before playing it to add to the story.

If you liked 7 they have done a HD texture version of 7 for the PS4 that I bought so that I could replay the original ahead of the remake.
You could also try the Final Fantasy X/X2 (10 and 10-2) HD remake, which is an awesome game, this one is also turn based if you liked that about Final Fantasy.
If you want to get into the newer stuff with running around action then FFXV (15) the latest one is amazing.

I hated the battle system and did exactly the same as you, but being a hardcore Final Fantasy Fan (probably not that hardcore) I figured this game deserves at least one play through.
Price is a bit steep for a remake but it's the best I can find so far, but there hasn't been much talk about it at all really.

Played this a few months back, looked like it was running through a PS2 emulator at 1080. Still smooth though, the price on this will drop quickly so I wouldn't pay £30 for it on release.

Remasters up the wazoo. I wonder if next gen they remaster these remasters because there will be no new game to remaster as companies don't seem to like making new games anymore.

I've had this on pre-order at Amazon since it was announced, as FFXII will really benefit from HD-ification. It arrived right at the end of the PS2's life, so while it looked beautiful, it also looked dated. Also, who wants to use a wired controller?
I absolutely loved the game, including setting up ridiculously complicated gambits for battle, but I never finished it probably due to the fact it was on the PS2.

The price of this will probably only be £30 on launch anyway like the X HD remaster. They won't charge the full price of a new game at like £49.99 for a HD remaster.
