There are 5 versions of Dyson V6: Absolute (pink), Clean (red), Fluffy (blue), Animal (purple) and Standard (White).
The difference among the Dyson v6 versions:
Standard - has a 20w motorhead attachment, this is the weakest of the series and a crevice tool
Animal - same motorhead attachment as the standard. In addition it has a mini motorhead for pets
Fluffy - has all the above and one additional soft brush attachment specifically designed for bare / hardwood floors
Clean - has all the above but a more powerful 35w direct-drive cleaner head - which replaces the standard 20w motorhead.
Absolute - has the mini pet tool as above, a more powerful 50w direct-drive than the Cleaner, and oddly, a very plain / simple attachment with silicon wipes for hardwood floors instead of soft brush attachment. In addition it has a Hepa filter at the motor exhaust - this also makes it a little heavier. All this will make the battery work a lot harder than the lower end versions.

So where does the V6 flexi fit in?

Reading through the details of both - V6 animal has a pet tool included and that's the only key difference I could find.

Thanks a lot, I remembered reading this b4 on another thread. I bought the v6 absolute in JL for £250, is this worth the extra £50 or should I get them the pet to save £50? It's for my parents to make life a not easier. They don't have pets, live in a 3 bed house, the flooring is a mix of tiles, solid wood and carpet. It will also be there main vacuum cleaner.
Thanks in advance for your help

The only diff would be absolute being more powerful with a 50w direct drive clean head. Guess there might be a difference in weight too??

As they have mixture of hard and carpet you'd be better off getting the total clean. It's only available from dyson or Curry's, the head for carpets is a lot better (slighty not as powerful as the one with the absolute) It's the hard floor attachment that really sets it apart. If you ring dyson direct you should be able to get it for £10 cheaper along with some free tools.

Wouldn't pay that for the V6. 20 minutes isn't long enough for cleaning. Reasonably quick charge though.
My son got his for £149. I'd pay no more. After a deal on the V8

I've reserved both the v8 animal and v6 absolute. So you say the v6 is not that great on suction?
Think I'll stick with the v8 animal.
Anyone know if the head on it is ok to use on laminate floors?

Will John Lewis match this (I have a JL voucher thats all)? They are closed today but I have submitted a request. Is it best to order from JL anyway and return if they wont price match as item may be out of stock tomorrow in Currys.
Thanks for any advice offered.
