they may last as long, but if left the cheapy ones may leak. Duracell and energizer ones don't, that's why I buy them

Just bought some from Tesco possibly the offer you are thinking of... two packs of 8 x AA or 8 x AAA Duracell Ultra for £8 (BOGOF).
Cheap Zinc/Carbon crap, sure.
But what LesD linked to were Alkaline batteries; exactly the same chemistry found inside overpriced Duracells et al.

I believe in cheap batteries leaking and messing up the terminals, and yes, they do last longer than cheap crap

what batteries do you use then? most the time I'd rather use duracell for the kids toys, think it's just piece of mind that I won't be changing them in 2 days time!! remotes I tend to use anything laying round the house lol. I brought 16aa and 16aaa and I already have a few powercell aaa left so hopefully that'll last me till next year

she buys primark batteries when she does her daily shop and they last far less, so there's an obvious difference between them and Mr Bunny

The geek on the batteries is quite interesting if you go read. I don't use Duracell now and can honestly say I don't notice the difference, except i'm spending far less

Oh dear....sorry I forgot. HUKD won't allow Wilko links as they don't get a referral fee! You'll have to cut-and-paste.
