Take aim with the nerf dog tennis ball blaster! High-powered blasting action launches your dog's favourite fetching tennis ball over 50ft in the air. When your dog brings it back, stay in the game by placing the barrel on the tennis ball and pick it up "hands-free".

50FT isn't very far, my £1 flicker can send a ball 3 times that distance with little effort, now if I could just get my dog to give me the ball back then that'd be great.

can't find any information on Argos website (or ask a question). Can you please tell me how this is powered? Is it manual or battery powered? I am finding throwing the ball with that throwy thing for my grand dog hard work these days. This looks ideal if no effort is involved!

There is a video you can watch when you click the link, by the other photos.
There is a lever on top that you pull back to load the springs I think.

If you own a handbag dog, not a problem : -) I own a Beagle and I would have RSI if i threw every ball! I'd say about 1 and half hours of fetch each day! I use a Flicker which helps. I'd be a Major League Pitcher without it!

How far does the ball actually go along the ground?
50ft I presume is height? But even that isn't much.
Not sure it goes much more than it could be thrown or launched with one of the £1 easy launcher things.
Also they say to use their lighter balls for maximum distance.
Wondered before about making an electric pull back harpoon style ball gun along similar lines (a compressed air canon should get good distance, but need a decent tank to power it with).

Our dog is a retriever, and she will fetch things but won't give them to you. She looks at me as if to say "What part of retriever don't you understand? There's nothing in the job desciption about giving, only retreiving" Then I retort with "according to Crufts you're supposed to be a Gundog, so why are you so afraid of loud noises?" For some strange reason I don't appear to be winning this argument.

A: do not pick there dog's crap up after them.
B. Allow there dog to run across your path whilst attached to a yo yo leash (or wire of death as i call it) as you try to cycle past.
C. Think it's ok for there mutt to come bounding over to you and jump up you all wet and stinking because you must pet there adorable pooch :smirk:

Your dog would have to chew a tennis ball pretty obsessively to be effected by this, here we're just talking about throwing and retrieving a tennis ball so there should be no issue, only very large dogs should not use a tennis ball in case the dog chokes on it.

Without a 'Ball chucker' Border collies are already waiting at the spot it will land at, bouncing up and down with frustration at your slowness !
I suspect that the springs are not strong enough to launch a ball far enough for my dogs, if 50ft is a realistic distance for this launcher.
It is, of course, much better for your own fitness as well as the Dogs if you can use a traditional 'Arm powered' launcher.
[No not that ARM although it is about the only thing they do not have a chip in  ]

20 Dec 16#79
Yep!
Cheap balls that are made of something that cannot bounce, which is a slight problem for a ball.
Because they are made of 2 halves glued together, they always split in two.
They also smell like some dodgy organic substance like tar, dogs like the smell but I am not sure it is too good for them to be chewing on them.
The best substitute are medium sized Kong Balls that do not wear down the teeth like generic Tennis balls
Down side they contain a squeaker but that can be 'killed' by poking it with a small screwdriver etc.
Upside they bounce and do not come apart like Tennis Balls.
You have to search Amazon for bulk buys which are cheaper that buying from Pet Shops etc.

I am lucky in having 2 dogs.
Dog 1 will retrieve anything out of water etc
Dog 2 has fetch in reverse, so retrieves ball and runs into sea to drop ball, as per 'Victory lap'
Dog 1 will 99.9% of the time retrieve the ball, the rest of the time she decides to try to swim to Ireland as is sure the ball has landed there!
[Both Border collies, so are a little too clever for their own good  ]
I lose most balls due to the never ending sequence of tests to decide .......

Don't get too excited. 50ft is not very far at all and if you watch the product video you can see it's cunningly launched downhill in order to make it look more effective than it is. The poundland "wanging stick" even if just flicked underarm will probably achieve about twice the distance. The full overarm throw can hit 200ft on a good day. And isn't susceptible to dog mouth slime gumming up the parts like this would be.
