15 Dec 16 #21
Small world is in Magic Kingdom. Epcot is very good, Test Track, Soarin, youngsters like Frozen ride. Its also a good place for veggie food. Epcot can be done in half a day. Arrive as the gates open, head straight for Soarin or Test Track and have booked fast passes for other rides straight after. You can park at Magic Kingdom and get the train, or you can park at Epcot and use the parking receipt at any other Disney park in the same day. Have to add that Epcots World Showcase is a long walk, very interesting, but not fun on a scorching day. Although pop to the coca cola Club Cool for endless free drinks.

This seems like good value now, I remember my first trip to Disney the tickets were £180 :disappointed:

Still, the way ticket prices were going they must have had a massive downturn in sales. Disney itsself though? Brilliant for all ages.

Unless you have been to Disney, then you won't know how big the place is and how tiring walking around in the heat is. Your feet take a pounding just queueing (even with fastpasses). Love the place, been there 3 times and hope to go back in 2018. But 1 week your body will be broken and you won't be able to do everything.

PS. Epcot is the best place for food with Disney Springs!

These are only about £10 per person less than what you can get elsewhere like https://www.orlandoattractions.com/tickets/disney-14-day-ultimate-2017

Gatorland is a £12.80 ticket. All the other freebies are pretty standard.

If your also going to do Universal, then you may get a better deal buying combo type tickets.

If you haven't already looked into it, check the flights and accommodation prices. As the difference in savings shopping around for these can be £1K's not just £10 in this deal.

IMHO This deal isn't something to jump on if you haven't already got the rest of the holiday parts planned.

Best wishes

I booked these (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/disney-world-2017-14-day-ultimate-ticket-with-free-cirque-du-soleil-ticket-2577790#post29567799) last night. I had already paid a £10 deposit for Disney/Universal tickets at another company several weeks ago when they were saying they were about to raise prices due to Brexit and the weak Pound. Prices seem to have fallen since then as all the main providers seem to have better deals. Maybe they are worried visitors from the UK will be down. The Cirque tickets are not really free as Sarahjc88 points out but cheaper than booking separately.

Depends what sort of thing you like. We didn't like Epcot so went elsewhere and came back for the fireworks

Hi there is a charity Disney are involved in called Give Kids The World. It's a special hotel near Disney. I'm not sure they take kids outside US but it's certainly worth an enquiry I'd say. Good luck.

Edit the website says it does, http://www.gktw.org/

2nd edit, it has to be a referral via a local wish giving charity. Go on the website above and there are 7 of them listed for the UK, so maybe look at going through that process. It's all on that website.

Enjoyed Gatorland. It was the first park we went to when we got there and being new to the whole park thing we wanted to ease ourselves gently into it, which I think was a good move. We parked about 100 yards from the entrance... it wasn't crowded which was very nice, but oddly the thing we all remember most was the aviary, where you enter a large cage full of budgies and you can buy a 'seed stick' for $1 where you basically get swamped by the birds eating seed direct from your hand.

It's not as big as the other parks and you can do it in half a day quite easily.

You can definitely do all the parks as an adult in two weeks. I went with my wife and managed to fit in a few of the non-Disney theme parks and Discovery Cove. We're quite mobile and young, though we got to the point where we needed a break by the second week, which we did.

You are not supposed to use the pools or pool hop but it's easy to do apart from the Yacht &a Beach club. Though saying that the life guards had to request a family to leave this year as they didn't have the bands on so it still happens there but not on the scale of the other resorts.

Is it possible to visit and enjoy all Disney parks as well as the Universal Parks in 7 days???? With kids

Yep its easily done. 4 Disney Parks, 2 universal (one per day). You probably won't spend all day in parks like Animal Kingdom so use the rest of that day to experience downtown disney too.

The bigger problem is they don't remember it. We took our son to loads of places when he was little but he doesn't remember any of them, only that we have pictures of him there.

16 Dec 16 #94
True. But I paid £420 last week. Luckily I was able to amend my booking and get the lower price. Disney have slashed their prices and the resellers have followed suit. These tickets can be used anytime during 2017 so it is well worth securing them at this price and taking out the £20 cancellation insurance (per booking) offered by Florida Tix and others. They will almost certainly go back up again soon.

We did a trip a couple of years ago over a couple of weeks. These tickets are really good value. We did the US Magic Your Way ticket as it gave us more options at the time (10 days park entry + 10 days fun activities such as water parks). For a family of four, the Magic Your Way tickets would cost us £1456 (from Orlando Attractions) vs £1156 via this deal.

With regards to planning, my advice is just pencil in a park for each day you are there and pick three of the FASTPASS rides that the kids want to do. We got to the parks early (about 9:30-10am) when it was quiet and booked our FASTPASSes for the afternoon when attendance picked up.

My other tip is try and break up your park visit with a different activity. So we would do a couple of days in the parks followed by a day at one of the water parks.

I hope your son enjoys the trip

is it me or is there a few confusing period of when to use these tickets.

For example - IMPORTANT - Ultimate Florida ticket
To receive the full 14 consecutive calendar days of admission, the Ultimate Florida ticket must be used on OR before December 18, 2016. THIS TICKET EXPIRES IN FULL ON DECEMBER 31, 2016

FREE Entry into Wild Florida Park for 2016 bookings
FREE $10 Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant voucher for 2016 bookings

I just got a feeling that the 2017 tickets was a copy and paste jobbie of 2016? but the "important" fact can't be ignored.

Having been to Orlando 9 times, I'd say doing Disney and Universal in 7 days is just too much to ask. You will all be extremely tired after 2 or 3 days (you will be jet lagged too) and it will change from being a fun holiday to a nightmare. All 9 times we visited all Disney & Universal parks, and others such as Seaworld & Busch Gardens, but this was spread over a minimum 14 days and other times 16, 18, 20 and 26 days. We really needed the days in between to recover at the villa and just chill. It does of course depend when you're going, but even outside the busy periods the parks are still pretty hectic.

If you were going without kids then yes, it's possible (at a push) but with kids? In my opinion absolutely not.

But it's up to you - if you're prepared to be run ragged queueing and walking and generally waiting around (not to mention being amongst thousands of people) with no rest for 7 days go for it, but I think you'll regret it. You're spending a LOT of money on tickets and I just do not think you'll get anywhere near your money's worth on that type of tight schedule - I'd suggest do Disney, but nothing else. You can always go another time for 2 weeks and do Disney again as well as the other parks.

My suggestion for a new visitor, would be as follows;

Magic Kingdom - 1.5 to 2 days
Hollywood Studios - 1 to 2 days
Animal Kingdom - 1.5 to 2 days
Epcot - 1 Day
Water parks - Half to 1 day each.

Assuming you haven't been before, there is so much more to the theme parks (especially Disney) than just rides - they are very big parks, with so much to see & do and with kids you WILL be stopping often to queue, look at things, get drinks, food and toilet breaks and the amount of time you can 'waste' queueing with your kids to meet all the characters around the parks are insane! But this is what kids do and it's very much part of the trip.

Honestly, to keep to your timescale you'll be literally dragging your kids round the parks!

Other will no doubt disagree but after 9 family trips, I like to think I know what I'm talking about!

Whatever you do, enjoy!

There will be lots for new visitors to do but do consider a lot of Hollywood studios is out of action for new lands being built and Epcot has a lot of closed attractions. There are also lots of little extra costs creeping in so do a bit of research. For example Extra costs to park a little closer and also heard restrictions or costs for the early/late park access. That used to be perks for hotel guests.

Just to say, yes this is a very good deal and deals are rare on these tickets. We paid more than this for tickets earlier in the year.

I'd also say ignore everyone saying you only need a week, especially given your circumstances and that it's a first time trip you can very easily fill 2 weeks at Disney. Yes you could combine it with Universal as some suggested but that will add more to the cost, although Universal is excellent and my favourite - however you will not have time to get the most out of either ticket. That's not to say don't go but you will come away wanting more! Universal is more adult oriented.

I have a copy of Birnbaums official guide to Walt Disney World, although it's 2013, the main stuff is all there, there will just be a few extra attractions missing from it - you're welcome to have it if it will help you plan. Just send me your address via a pm and I'll send it to you.

All the best and have a wonderful time.

or go every year so you can spend 3 of 7 days at parks and go at a leisurely pace. 14 days sounds cuckoo lol

Hi I tried to send this private but I'm new so wouldn't let me. I am so sorry to hear about your sons health. I just wanted to say that I follow a Dr Morse on Youtube and he has helped change many many lives in a similar position including my own. All hope is not lost. God bless.

Depends how often you go, if it's a once only trip you are possibly right, but they do get very different things out of it when young that they then become too cool for. I've taken my kids to Disney many times, my son went first when he was under 1, my daughter 18 months. They really enjoy it when little, but you are right they don't remember it, The good thing is when we went back this year and they hadn't been for 3-4 years (son now nearly 10, daughter 12) it was all new to them again!

We've been 5 times and I think your advice is pretty much spot on.

The only thing is I think you've got the Animal Kingdom and Epcot the wrong way around. Animal Kingdom is easy to cover in 1 day. Epcot with more attractions would be 1.5 - 2 days.

Its disney that have just reduced the tickets until March 2017....

You are mistaken! Magic Kingdom park 142 acres including car park, Alton Towers theme park 910 acres.

Totally agree. I've been 7 times and seem to be one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to worry about kids.
In all the times I've been its been adult only so agree that Epcot (especially with the amount of restaurants & bars at World Showcase) is definitely worth spending more time at.

Agreed we did two evenings in fort wilderness and got treated like royalty as they so rarely see brits at the campfire singalong.

The "all-you-care-to-enjoy" Family platter at Whispering Canyon Cafe (wilderness lodge) was one of the highlights of our trip last year, you'll need to book in advance though. The platter was half the size of the table, the food was lovely and they just filled it as much as you want.Although be careful when asking for Ketchup
I would also recommend an evening at the Boardwalk to see some of the street entertainers there. (although I might be biased on that because it's where I got married  )

As others have said check-out the DIBB for all the info you'll need.

I've just come back from a Florida Holiday (booked for £330 each for this ticket minus gatorland)

Here's some advice:

Absolutely do not do Magic Kingdom Saturday, Sunday or Monday. It will be packed and unpleasant (there are calendars that estimate crowd levels that help you plan). Disney Springs (formally downtown Disney) is also unpleasant weekend evenings because of the crowds.

The Fast Pass for the most popular rides are booked up well in advance (over a week) . My experience was that the following rides were vital if you wanted to do the following rides without massive queues (in my experience):

Magic Kingdom: 7 dwarfs mine train, haunted mansion, buzz lightyear, Peter Pan's Flight (longest queues in the park, I have no idea why).

Epcot: Frozen (hour+ long queues from opening to closing), Test Track, Soarin

Animal Kingdom : The safari ride, Expedition Everest

Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom can both be done in a day, to fully do Epcot and Magic Kingdom requires a minimum of two days each. If you're doing character meet and greets, expect that to increase the time you need at parks as the queues can be as long as the rides. Be warned that Disney seemed to quite frequently under-estimate queue times by a big margin, be careful if you want to catch a parade or fireworks.

The Memory maker thing is poorly explained but it's basically free photos from rides or from Disney Cast members who'll take a pic of your family at most of the best photospots. You scan your park ticket and the photos become available to download on your disney experience account.

Parking costs $20 a day at both Disney and Universal. This can add hundreds to your holiday, make sure to price it in.

Food is expensive in the parks and the eating areas can get packed at lunchtime, plus if you skip lunch you can fit in an extra ride or two . Fill up with a breakfast at Golden Corral or a hotel buffet and no one will be hungry until late evening.

Arachnophobes beware at Gatorland. When I went there were hand sized spiders (golden orb weavers) in massive webs all around the park. They're harmless spiders but still huge and there was at least one web that went across a path. This may have been a rare seasonal thing though.

Sweet Tomatoes is another option for cheap meals, if you have a car. Much nicer food than Golden Coral i thought.

I recently booked 18 nights at the Disney Beach Resort Hotel for August 2017. We've never been to Disney or USA before so figured we'd make the most of the trip by making it as long as possible. Family of four, with a 7 and 11 year old girls. The offer came with upgraded meals and a 21 Day pass.

I'd like to break the trip up as much as possible. So looking for suggestions on good prices for universal studios and Sea World. Apparently there is a place called discovery cove which looks pretty cool where you get to have closer interactions with dolphins which is pretty much my daughters dream experience at the moment

who needs 2 weeks to do Disney? we did it in a day, a few years ago, drove from Myrtle Beach the night before bought a 1 day hopper for Disney went to epcot for sorrin, mission space and test track and a few other bits, over to MGM for the stuff we like in there and finished the day at Magic Kingdom. The next day we did both universal and Island of adventure then drove to Atlanta for our flight home. It was when the US and UK schools had gone back and mid week so the parks were empty and we have been 8/9 times before so knew what we wanted to do we only really went to do the harry potter ride as it was new since our previous visit but an awesome 2 days in Florida. but I think it was about $125 per person per day not the cheapest way to do Disney or universal but well worth it.

But first as timers many years ago we did a 2 centre holiday a week in Kissimmee and a week in Fort Lauderdale 2 days in MK, 2 in Epcot, 1 on MGM and one in universal studios and a day at the space centre and job done, we also did seaworld. We only did an extra day in MK as we went on 4th July and it was a little busy we came back from ft Lauderdale 2 days early and did half days in epcot and MK that was when you bought a 7 day hopper pass with or without water parks I think they did a 5 day option too or single days non of this 7/14 day passes which seem about the same prices as the passes we bought back then anyway you would never do 14 days in Disney but it sounds good value. They just want you paying the $20 parking and buying the food and drinks in the parks that's where they make their money from these passes. I believe the multiday unlimited entry passes are a UK targeted market as well. never really saved much buying in advanced in the UK over buying at the gate in the US only once when travelcity had an offer of universal passes and Disney passes for something like £350 per person 14 days unlimited any park but they never did that again and it was in the times before they went in to administration an bought by Virgin.

We went in the summer 2016 staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel (great hotel).

Book the fast tracks for the main attractions and visit the others in the evening when there are less people.

If you go to Animal Kingdom park when the Jungle Book show is on you can walk onto Expedition Everest without a queue.

We had 3 young kids so preferred Epcot to the other parks as there were less people and more kids rides. I was really impressed with Soarin and my daughter loved Test Track.
