Still a terrific game, it holds up remarkably well. Arguably one of the greatest (remaining!) PS3 exclusives, and an absolute steal at four quid.

Agreed. I played this back in 2011 and thought it was total garbage, ended up rage quitting pretty quickly. Now having played and loved Dark Souls 2, 3 and Bloodborne, I'd love to go back, git gud and try again without having to crack open the PS3. I think a remaster, along with dark souls 1, would sell really frickin' well.

Needs a ps4 release. It's a Sony game so can't see why they don't release it as digital, it will sell sheet loads.

Still the best/purest Souls game imo.

This is still a great game but I would disagree. The best/most pure souls game is still Dark Souls. While I feel that the Nexus does nail the 'hub' better than Majula, The Hunters Dream and DS3's Firelink Shrine, the way that the original Dark Souls is all interconnected and you gradually learn the entire world structure before you get access to fast travel is just godlike amongst games, the bosses and combat are also vastly improved upon from Demon's Souls.
This is still a great game though and props to the Tower Knight, King Allant 1, Old King Doran and the first red eyed knight for kicking my butt more than a few times while I was learning the ropes... a must play for anyone that hasn't tried it! Heat!

played this after completing the original dark souls. Not as good but still a great game in its own right

I feel that I should almost buy this out of principle!
Don't have a PS3, but big fan of Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2,3.
Love a remaster please SONY

Think this one deserves a remake exclusive to PS4 due to Sony involvement with the original and not just a remaster. Some of physics in this are very janky! I would be very happy with a remaster of DS1 Prepare to Die edition though as I'm yet to fight Artorias and have been holding out on getting the PS3 version hoping a remaster may come...The idea of having to go through Blighttown again at 10-15fps on the PS3 gives me nightmares. 1080p @ 60fps with some improved textures like SoTFS though is the stuff of dreams!

Literally the most brutal thing I've ever played. I eventually tapped out somewhere around the giant, screen-sized blind guy, but I hate giving up on stuff. As much as I loved it, I felt that the brutality outweighed the enjoyment, and with sooooo much other stuff to play, I gave up. I will go back to it though.

Yeah it was punishing but made it so rewarding. The one false move and human error made it so great. That damn flamelurker.

Run right by him, up the stairs, take out the archers first. Then run in and go mad at the ankles, hopefully he will fall and you can get the head... When you run out of stamina go back up the stairs and wait for your opportunity to rinse and repeat.
If you're a caster... Take out the archers and stand on one of their perches and blast him from there. Watch out for his soul spear. I think the Tower Knight stopped a lot of people playing Demon's Souls... I bought this game in 2011 and didn't finish it until 2015. Mostly because of this guy. The run up to him in 1-2 is brutal until you get to grips with the game!

Fantastic game.
I imported the US version (as they said no EU release!) on release even though I dislike difficult games, I just thought the combat & world design looked fantastic.
A few months later, an EU release (so yes I have two platinums).
Wish they would do Dark souls 1 & Demon's Souls PS4 release, the license for Demon's souls would be tricky but as you say it would sell loads and everyone likes money.
Sony really dropped the ball on this game, of course it did pave the way for multiplatform release of Dark Souls which is good for everyone.

I imported this game from PlayAsia (or similar) back in the day. Tried my hardest and madden it through a few levels but it just crushed me. Dark Souls did the same to me, I just couldn't handle the camera in tight spaces. DS2 is the first game in the series I truly clicked with, played it nearly to completion on the PS3 but sold the console to get an Xbox One before I finished it. Eventually got it on the next gen systems and played it to completion, it hooked me. I eventually got Bloodborne when I got a PS4 (about a year after launch) and that game...wow that game became me. I sank close to 200 hours into that title, everything about it is just perfect - it's more than just my favourite Souls game, it's one of my favourite games ever. Haven't played DS 3 yet, was burnt out after getting the Bloodborne platinum, will probably start that one soon. I do want to go back to Demons Souls, where it all began. As others have said, hopefully they'll do a remaster, along with DS1 (or the entire series, I'd pay top dollar for a greatest hits style collection).

Great game, broken as all hell if you know what you're doing (super re-gen, stun lock combustion etc.) but fun nonetheless.

I couldn't agree more, quite simply the best game ever released. So challenging yet so rewarding. Gave up on the platinum much to my despair, even going beyond NG+10. This desperately needs a remaster

Use the thiefs ring on the old hero, he finds it hard to hear you.
Sneak up on him and wack him, watch out for his Aoe attack and hide in the corner where you find some arrows while he goes on a rampage.

Blind guardian on Ng+ took me an hour to kill. Chip damaged him where his life bar only dropped like a pixel a time.

At the risk of providing a serious answer, have you considered the PS4's pad, the DS4? It's compatible with most games on PS3 (certainly every game in which I'm interested), and is absolutely faultless except for the lack of rumble.
To be honest, I thought I'd try it and then go back to the DS3, as I do like a bit of rumble. But I was surprised to find that the DS4 was just so far ahead of the DS3 in other ways that I couldn't go back. Plus, it'll work on PCs as well (Steam just added some decent support for it, and you can use the touchpad to emulate a mouse in Windows), and it also works on... wait for it... a PS4. :man:
Mine was about £30 for a blue one a year or so ago, and that was apparently a stonking bargain, so they're not cheap. But it certainly seemed to improve my Demon's Souls performance!

I came from playing DS1 and expecting big things from this game. I wasnt impressed. The one MAJOR GRIPE i had was the lack of footstep feedback when ur dead. Once uv died u run round and u cant hear ur footsteps. At first i couldnt pin down why i didnt like this game but that was it. Also the hub world is absolutely ****. At this point if uv played more than one Dark souls game, id avoid this.

Hakoom is a die hard trophy hunter who plays games for platinums and it is recently known that he has a team of people to get as many trophies for games as possible
