Good printers for family and school printing. No more clogged inkjets ever! Cheap non-oem toners on ebay/amazon that last a long time.

I bought a dell 2150cn a few years ago for £158 off Amazon when dell were offering the £75 trade in cashback for an old printer. Sadly the first one they delivered was ghosting so had it replaced, but managed to get cashback against both :-) ended up costing me £8 and I'm still on the original toners.

With no original toner, no 2 year warranty and gone up by £10, this is working out worse than Ebuyer last offerring. I still have an old hp laserjet that does auto duplex so willing to see if Ebuyer get more stock.

Hi, can anyone recommend cheap compatible toner for this printer as I have just purchased it, thanks.
We bought one of these when the £100 deal was on from Ebuyer, but it was to replace a Dell 1250c we had for many years before that, I can confirm these are the best value for money printers going! We get cheap toners from Ebay and have never had any problems, with 2 student daughters printing what seems a like a book a month each I am so thankful for finding this. I dunno if these are refurbished or what but if they work you won't regret it.
lol I like the poster thinking of buying a second for spares, if I had the room I would but I've no where to keep it. It would be a huge shame if Dell really are stopping these printers in the UK.

throw the spare in the attic. will be costlier buying other printers and toners for other printers. yes dell have stopped selling printers except in the USA. so stock up if you can! I would have bought the multifunction version but they are going on eBay for £300 used!

Business sense maybe but it doesn't make it right to take something out of the packaging included by the manufacturer only to sell it separately for more profit... I know it's clearly stated but doesn't make it right morally but then again not many businesses are moral!
bubblesmoney
27 Dec 16#68
the seller has clearly stated in the description for the sale that no toner is included. It's good business what he does with the toner, how does it make him a con man I fail to see. Anyway it's your opinion, just like mine is my opinion. I hope some people are happy after buying the printer.

Although I've purchased one but you're right the 'con-men' are selling the genuine cartridges separately!

Mine arrived today. Shipping country is noted as France, with a date of October 2015, so these have been holed up for a while. No chance of Dell honouring any remaining warranty in the UK, so if these go after 90 days, tough.

Everyone check your warranty date on Dell site. If expired return the printer. Not worth the risk at this price.

This Ebay seller has removed the toners and is selling them seperately. I don't see the point of this. There is no saving here for the buyer so this is not a deal. Sorry cold.
And the seller is siliconconnect. Two con's in the name. How appropriate.

So far so good.
Granted, running costs high if using genuine Dell toner. However most use non-oem toners (even businesses!) and you can get a full set for under £20. There are no other consumables (well paper of course).
Slower than some inkjets?! Maybe when inkjet is printing in draft - otherwise this laser printer beats all inkjets at this price and print quality. Yes I dare say all inkjets (I'm sure someone will prove me wrong)
My family has printed hundreds of photos and I've never noticed a yellow tint. Photo printing is one area where inkjet beats laser easily. But for us photo printing on this printer is acceptable - we even have some framed and nobody's noticed

i can also vouch for this printer having had an inkjet previously in different guises for years and I can honestly say moving to this printer is the best tech thing I have ever done, as previously stated no more printers playing up when you haven't printed for a few weeks with blocked nozzles etc it just works, manual duplex is no problem either and I came from a full duplex inkjet

The problem with buying the no name toner is that with Amazon the reviews seem to cover various retailers selling various brands, so reviews never truly tell you the story about 1 type of toner. Some reviews are great and some are terrible.

I hate it when this happens. I have only just bought a new Ricoh SP C250 DN wireless colour laser printer from Amazon for £50. 21 which comes with a starter cartridge.
The replacement Ricoh cartridges are expensive , so it would actually work out cheaper to pay more
money for a Dell laser as the cartridges are cheap.
I hope a few more cartridge suppliers start stocking Ricoh in the future. The other thing to check
especially anything HP they put a chip in to try and stop the printer accepting anything other than
manufacturers over priced inks or toner.
