I got 2 of these when they were a tenner (I think) in Tesco.
Had them both for about 3 months now and they will be joining their contents in the wheelie bin as soon as I can get a replacement.
The lid on these is absolutely infuriating if you use bags in your bin, it's an absolutely terrible design where the little protruding bit that holds the lid down will snag and tear the bin bag or, if it doesn't tear the bag, will catch every item in the bag on the way out making it a total pain to remove.
Also, unless I'm doing it wrong, when you fold the top of the bag over the top of the bin, the bag covers the hole which retains the catch in the lid meaning you have to poke a hole in the bag for the lid to even stay closed. For ages I thought I must be doing it wrong because it's such a mind-blowingly stupid design if that's the case but for the life of me I can't see another way.
All in all, I regret spending a tenner (x2) on this bin and, to make them bearable, I've now snapped the lids off completely and they lie open all the time.

Great bin if you are lucky - first one lasted less than a month before the catch broke (luckily I bought from Amazon) replacement has lasted just over 2 years and hinge has gone this time (waiting to hear back from Curver under 5 year warranty).
Update - Curvet sending new lid free of charge after Christmas, result!

it was the spring that came out of mine after 18 months of ownership our two year old gave it lots of use though the pop up lid was his favourite toy.

Thanks for posting, our other bin lid broke a few days ago (a cheap argos one) so ordered this.

Keep your receipt as they will ask for proof, but I had a new lid sent out promptly with no issues.

Nice bin...good size and shape with a flat back to go to the wall.
lids do break eventually but you can use the warranty...5 year I think?
It's often reduced to sub £20 from various sellers.

Good point about the warranty, I had the spring break on my last one after about 18 months but didn't realise it was still under warranty.
