The Crash games are fine games and have aged well. The Crash trilogy is actually more playable than even Mario 64 imo. It has the benefit of being a pseudo 3d game in a 2d space. There are not camera issues or any of that early 3d game jank that is hard to get over in 2016.

Agreed. They are still decent games but standards have changed and it isn't the 90s anymore. I don't get why people love remasters for. They will always be better in your mind than actually playing them. Also £35 for three PS1 games is just funny. Might as well be wearing a t shirt that says 'mug' when buying it.

Strange, I played them a few months ago and they were pretty good. Normally the people that don't like them are the people that die a hundred times & blame the controls

I'm hoping there'll be a Special Edition with Crash and Cortex. Not the same figures from Skylanders Imaginators but with the original designs.
Waiting for a price drop on the Skylanders Crash Bandicoot Pack and for a Solus copy of Imaginators (no way am I gonna pay full RRP for all that when I already own the portal and only want to play Crash's stage).

Nope, I'm just not a fan of mediocre games being needlessly remastered. Hey, don't take my word for it- go ahead and buy the game for £35.
You'll soon be reminded that Crash is a very limited sub-standard side scroller with some really finicky 3D tunnel sections. Cap it off with the cardinal sin of having 3D sections where you run towards the screen, and you're golden.
if you really must play this again, buy the PS1 version from the PS store or just buy the original versions and a PS1 for less than the price of this remaster.
Oh, and Pandemonium was the better 2.5D platformer.

Good memories of a very playable game. Some haters were not probably even born when originally released. Apparently it's a remaster with a few tweeks, so should be worth the wait.

I'm kind of against remastered games being released on this gen, but also feel it depends on the game. Some older games benefit much more from a remaster than say, the games on the Batman collection, or even Skyrim. They were already pretty nice looking and controlled well enough.
Crash is definitely a remaster I'm looking forward to. Visually it looks amazing based on the PSX footage. A real significant upgrade! Crash is childhood gaming for me, so nostalgia alone will probably see me buy this :stuck_out_tongue:

No. He's right. Big Naughty Dog fan here and PS3/4 owner without an Xbox in sight and Crash games are just not brilliant imo. I think everyone excited about this played them when younger and are currently on the nostalgia train. I was 'Nintendo' all the way up until the Gamecube and remember thinking 'What's the big deal?!' when playing Crash around a friend's house at the time. Having bought the PS1 Classic of Crash for something light hearted to play on my PS3/Vita I can say it really hasn't aged well either. Very stiff control, unforgiving and not all that fun. Fingers crossed they've done something to the gameplay cause I fear this will be one many gamers pick up for the nostalgia, realise its not as good as they remember and put to one side to gather dust.

I really do wish these remasters would die already. It feels like the PS4 is turning into a greatest hits console from the PS1, PS2 and PS3. I bought my PS4 for new games not to replay games that weren't great in the first place. Rehashed remasters like Skyrim selling well while brilliant games like Titanfall 2 struggling just makes me annoyed. Just keep your old consoles if you love old games so much. I want gaming to advance not trying to relive the past.

It's got nothing to do with the controls, music, graphics, or my gaming ability. It's to do with the overall "meh-ness" of the game. I never out and out said it was bad, I said it wasn't very good.
If you thought Crash was a good game, try a really good PS1 platformer like Klonoa- there's more love and imagination in the first level of that game than there is in the whole library of Crash Bandicoot games.
And really, don't compare Crash to Mario 64- one is a 2.5D side scrolling platformer with limited tunnel sections. Mario 64 is a full 3D platform game/playground that changed 3D gaming forever.

11 Dec 161#45
Please. Since when did the price of a game reflect it's quality? BTW, £25 complete in box is not expensive. Granted, it's pricier than the average PS1 game, but that's not exactly a bank-breaking sum.
I mentioned Klonoa in my previous post- check out the EBay prices of that game if you want to see how much a beloved PS1 game goes for...

At the risk of generalising, I suspect there's a generational thing going on here. I can understand the nostalgia if the PS1 was someone's first console, but for me - someone who grew up on Nintendo and Sega - Crash Bandicoot barely registered.
And that's not because I'm anti-Sony in any way. Indeed, I owned a PS1, but anyone compiling a list of its greatest games would be hard pressed to justify including Crash Bandicoot anywhere near the top.

Then buy the originals. I was pointing out an inaccuracy. And as someone who was gaming long before the PSX the fuzzy graphics were not the reason for the games appeal, they were fun. They still are.

Are you 12? Who even plays platformers anymore? Its 2016 not the 90s. Some of you people are stuck living in the past and your dragging everyone else who wants new games down with you. If the games are so good then go on ebay and buy a PS1 system with the games and you can stay in nostalgia goggles land for as long as you want.

Come on dude you're the one acting like you're 12. Tons of people loved the Crash games and still do. It's going to sell because lots of people want to play them again. This is only being made because Ratchet and Clank (an action platformer and a ps2 remake...) did so well and is up there as one of the best games of the generation.
