Very disappointed with my local Toby in the last few months. The last 3 carveries I went for in the last few months were pretty bland and lacked taste. Incredibly small portions of meat compared to what they used to be and all in all just so-so - all the veg tastes the same (watery) and the roast potatoes seem like they've been cooked in anything but oil. I went for a breakfast a few weeks ago (cost had gone up to £4.49) and that too was very bland. I've no idea what they're doing to make everything taste the same and just so bland so I do wonder why I bother any more. I guess I'm hoping they'll suddenly get good again, but each time I go back in anticipation, my hopes are dashed yet again! So although this is a good deal, for me I just can't be bothered nowadays.

All depends where you are as above. My local Harvester was rubbish and it's completely put me off going.

For those complaining about lack of hash brown, that's not really 'full English' is it? Reminds me of McDonald's. I don't think potato belongs on a full English really - stock up on toast for your carbs (ideally half a loaf of bread).

Kind lady scanned one of there codes and it was less than £10 for 2 breakfast happy days :-)

Another great deal for people who don't work.

You can take a day off you know, it is your legal right.

It is already a good deal at £3.99 but if you are going to sit in there for an hour loading up on salty fatty breakfast stuff then you need more than one cuppa to wash it down with. So a good saving and I will be going :wink:

I ate at one of these recently by mistake. It was absolutely horrible, I wouldn't go again if it was free.

I love Toby, but there does seem to be a huge variation on level of service depending on which you go to. The food is generally always good though. Nice deal, heat definitely added for this one.

For the record, my favourite is Lincoln (St Mark's Square I think it's called?) - it's one of the newer purpose built buildings as opposed to the sticky-table/carpet ex-pub type ones and the staff have always been brilliant.

Willed by, outside of Hull, is the worst - they always seem to be far too preoccupied to care about customers there.

Everything has to be a 'bundle' nowadays, free tea and coffee doesn't cut it any more. PS4 and free Cod? Nah it's a bundle. Free extra battery with your drone? No sir that is a 'Fly more bundle'. Free toilet paper with your bathroom suite? I'll take the s**t more bundle please!

Our local one is great and always have nicely cooked food, golden bacon and well cooked sausages.

Great value for money but personally, I've only been here for breakfast once and it was absolutely terrible. However, love the carvery.

I think I'd be quite concerned if given bacon that was golden in colour!

According to the intro, the breakfast is usually £3.99 and unlimited tea or coffee an additional £2 making a total of £5.99, so for a saving of 99p this 'deal' gets over 1500 degrees...............?
People moan about ebay posts which can perhaps save you hundreds of pounds in fees, sitting at home in comfort whilst you list stuff, so where's the logic ?

Yes always been a good deal this all you can eat breakfast, even when they recently pushed the price up to £4.50 but always lacked a drink, so gets heat from me for 50p for the addition of tea or coffee. Hopefully they may keep this going.

Went 2 weeks ago and the bread was all being mauled because they put no tongs out for it, bacon was swimming in grease and the cups were dirty. Got my money back and left... and the staff were scruffy too. Avoid it!

It's their regular gravy with ketchup added. It's not bad surprisingly, it goes ok with the Breakfast Yorkies.

Just avoid Dudley completely!

My local tobys don't do normal sausages with the breakfast, just really hard dry lorne sausage instead, complete let down.

It's a help yourself breakfast buffet so I take a shopping bag and tupperware containers and fill up with sausages and bacon to keep us going all weekend. Heat from me. Oh the drinks are unlimited refills on tea and coffee too.

Ive been to the Toby in Windsor today. They had a problem with this voucher but accepted it at the end.
The food is simple and staff is friendly. Lets say the whole thing is mediocre but what can you expect for £5.00?
I was satisfied with it for that price. You buy a cup of tea or coffee in a Cafe anywhere and you pay £1.50 or more.

I also have 10% Cashback through Halifax rewards for Toby, expires 15/12/16

Yep nothing wrong with a doggy bag. I like to go circa 8am and have a nice breakfast relax and read for a couple hours then stock up for lunch or dinner just before 11 and leave.

Yeah it's been cooked, but about an hour ago and been left on the heated range an hour.... Oh Yum yum... But I suppose it is a fiver... With which I can buy more than 40 Cumberland Sausages for at Aldi (now that's a deal)

Had a bad experience last time we went the bacon was rock hard eggs really over cooked and sausages looked pink but heat for the price and hope yours is better than the Loughborough one :smiley: they also started clearing away at 11 so no chance for 2nds (not that we really wanted 2nds).

Anyone living in the Loughborough area try Maxwell's, fresh full english with unlimited coffee/tea for only £3.69

Not sure this is a good deal. Considering you won't each much more than you'd get on a standard £6-£7 breakfast at a cafe, the couple of quid saving isn't worth it for the sub-standard of food they do here.

Sort of on topic, but off topic for the deal, it's shocking that unless you go to a regular decent place, so many places **** up your eggs nowadays, that you have to tell them you want runny yolks.

Makes me ask the question of how can they make it so cheap? Even buying the cheapest ingredients you would eat a large breakfast will cost about £2.50 in ingredients alone. Factor in the overheads and staff costs plus waste then Toby are either making no money or buying very, very poor quality ingredients.
A friend of mine went in to a Toby Carvery on a Sunday at 2pm and they had ran out of meat :confused:

Funny that, as both Harvester and Toby Carvey both use the same food supplier! I've been to a couple of TC's for breakfast and thought it was really good, maybe it depends which you go but I definitely thought that for £3.99 all you can it you can't go wrong.. I prefer the self serve style too, means I can get exactly what I want.

What are the sausages like? Always tell the quality of a breakfast offering by the sausages.

To be honest i think the Hampton Toby is one of the worst i have ever been in. Friendly staff , but quality not up to much.

​Same in Basildon at Festival Leisure Park too this morning, said they turned down lots of the same voucher last week as it wasn't their company giving them out but was the old Black Friday one with a different expiry date, computer wouldn't accept either QR code or number. Didn't argue for the actual small saving.
