Total heat given to counteract the idiots who mark down as soon as a great post's put in here. Expect it to go on fire shortly!

Good watch, but replacing battery cost a fortune at Casio (£79) if you want to have it waterproof after replacement.

Better option would be a Citizen Eco-drive, no battery replacement required.

About the right price and you would probably struggle to find a better watch at this price point to be fair. There are other very similar watches at similar sort of price and some a little cheaper too....
Sorry, but for which kind of sport are those good for? Chess? I just checked lot of sportsman photos and can't find one to wear it during sport. Yes there is golf, but that's basically business meeting on grass.

but one thing that's always missed when people say this, is the £20-30 capacitor that needs replaced approx. every 10 yrs. I'm getting mine replaced just now, after 8 yrs use. Citizen want £130 to carry this out.

If I get 10 years out of a watch without needing a battery or any other work it's not going to be in any state for it to be worthwhile!!
Citizen come with a 5 year warranty and G shock 2 years. Haven't had a Citizen but numerous Casio solar waveceptors and all have lasted more than 3 years. Only faults is that they don't automatically pick up the signal abroad.
Have done stupid experiments with them and they came out unscathed. This isn't a G or with any features.

mine is as good as the day I bought it. advantage of buying a citizen that's full titanium and sapphire glass I suppose.

I still have Seiko Kinetic Auto-Relay, which bought in US 19 years ago. Still running fine, capacitor all good if used daily. Citizen,Casio - not that good in this matter...

Are you joking????
I bought same watch for my dad for full price on his anniversary and battery has died after 1 year and 3 months. And even it has 2 year warranty, Casio declined to change battery as this is not included apparently.
There is not such a battery on the market which last 10 years. There are capacitors for Solar/Kinetic watches, of which some will last well over 10 years. Best Quartz watch batteries can last up to 3 years at best..

Casio do sell quite a few watches listed with "10 year batteries". I can't vouch for these as all my G Shocks are solar but reviews are good so I guess they last. Featureless digital watches last years.

I didn't say all, I said most. Though some are still 2 year battery's.
Plus that's in lab conditions just like car emissions. It will depend on how you use it.
When you buy a watch you have to remember that battery has been running since the day that it was put in from the manufacturer, so if it's been stuck on a shelf waiting to be sold for a year or two, then that's obviously off of its lifetime.
So you dad might have been unlucky, to get a 2 yea battery which was manufactured 1.5 years earlier.

No. We already replaced battery second time. It lasted 16 months after first replacement. So this watch model drains battery faster than Seiko Sportura, for example, where after last replacement it lasted 3 years and 2 months.
