Hmmmn...
I purchased a 'collect in store' order today and split the payments over two Amex cards and received 'redeemed' confirmation emails for both transactions.
However, whether you can make multiple transactions on a single card and receive more than one £50 cashback is very debatable. No-one on the Amex thread has confirmed this yet - so this bargain is very theoretical.
And no bb8 - it hasn't been tried and tested. I suggest you try and let us know the result.

Perhaps there is an option to buy vouchers at Jessops or charge type card that you can purchase at Jessops over 3 days using the same Amex card (if multiple purchases are allowed) and use those to purchase the camera once complete?

American Express Credit Cards are excepted at pretty much every place Visa & MasterCard are with the exception of small independent retailers and charity shops.
American Express Charge Cards & Diners Charge Cards are accepted hardly anywhere.

I have an Amex Credit Card and never think twice about using it, have only ever been told it wasn't accepted at a small independent shop in a fishing village.

Wow, I wish I had an Amex Card. If anyone wants to get this and I'll give them £200 + my Canon 1000D with 18-55mm lens let me know (so you get an SLR for £50 and I get an upgrade).

Just bought 2 cameras, will let you know how I get on. I split the transaction 7 times! They were more than happy to do it.
Also, got 7 emails from American Express saying I have redeemed the offer.
I will await the cashback before doing anything otherwise return them!
No risk and worth it if you have the time, a car, willing to pay for parking and petrol. No guarantees, but worth a punt as they say.
I bought a Canon 750d and 760d. They also have Canon cashback and also Jessops are giving an additional £50 off per camera!
If the transaction splitting really works, it would be best deal

Fair play to the OP for this cashback idea. In regards to Amex it's not just small businesses that refuse Amex. I had an Amex company credit card for 8 years and found at least 50 percent of the time it wasn't accepted. Many Airlines, hotels and national restaurant chains also don't accept it because it's the highest cost to the retailer.... Other than diners club obviously. We ended up moving to a Mastercard and I've never had a problem since.
cmahey
10 Dec 16#24
Generally speaking, they are charged a percentage based on the value of the transaction. So probably no biggie to them as it's pretty much the same as if it was 1 larger transaction.

10 Dec 16#25
I'm in Leeds, so it's a bit far unfortunately :disappointed:
Also it looks like I way undervalued my 1000D, seems to be worth about £100-150.
I purchased this today but added an accessories bundle to take it over £600. Paid 2 X £150 transactions on one card, then 2 X £150 transactions on a different card. All 4 transactions tracked straight away (email from Amex). Hopefully all goes through fine.
Just found this tonight which I missed so I'll go back to the shop and speak to them. Basically £10 more than the link above but get the accessories bundle included. Would have had £50 to spend on something else had I gone for this instead.
Has anyone tried the same card multiple times yet? I've asked over in the main Amex deal thread too.
