Infinity Ward, the award-winning studio that helped to create the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise, reaches new heights with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. At its core, Infinite Warfare returns to the roots of the franchise where cinematic, immersive storytelling takes centre stage as told through an unfolding large-scale war and epic battles that deliver an authentic Call of Duty experience.
Packing three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, there is something for every Call of Duty fan. Delivering a rich and engaging narrative in a setting unlike anything to date in a Call of Duty game, the campaign is a return to the franchise’s gritty, military roots throughout gripping environments never before seen in the franchise.
Personally wouldn't pay £1.99 for it (OK, I might do). BUT even Activision must have had a feeling how this failing product was coming to an end. Why else would they slap a gaming great behind a stupid paywall.
We say it like they owe us something, but EA actually gave the gamers what they wanted this year, and they succeeded. Battlefield is awesome, it's absolutely brilliant for it's initial reasons, play it, you'll see.
At £19.99 it's hard to say "Don't buy this game, Activision don't give a **** about what you think". In true reality, if Activision did care (read: listen) they'd have given us World at War (2?) a long time ago, instead they kept **** about trying to recreate Titanfall and stopped realising what Call of Duty actually was. Let's go back, let's think about WaW, MW and Black OPS (1), the games that were actually good.
Thank you EA for Battlefield 1, and thank you Respawn (EA) for Titanfall 2. **** you Activision, nobody cares about Infinite Warfare and/or Modern Warfare: Remastered (behind your blatant paywall).

I've got the legacy edition and find myself on IW way more than MW.
IW is way more slick and refined than the mess that is MW, it really hasn't aged well at all.
With regards to Battlefield, it's good if you're in a squad but the novelty wears off incredibly quickly if you're playing solo. The game is frustrating and not really a cod competitor.
Titanfall 2 is good if you want a non-serious shooter, it's fun and plays well. However, I see the benefit in having AI in multiplayer but for me it ruins the competitive nature of the game. I also prefer it without Titans... Lol.
If I was to give each a label;
Most accessible - Titanfall
Most enjoyed solo - Cod
Most enjoyed with squad - BF
Overall I prefer Cod though, don't see why people are complaining tbh.

Oh Buzz , this one has really got your goat lol but I agree totally. Can you imagine how much this would have bombed if they hadn't have coupled it with the MW remaster? BTW I got the game for the xbox one pre-order via Argos in July for £40 (legacy) and have given it to all my pals to try for a week each. Only one liked Infinite Warfare and all are disappointed with the remaster of MW1. It's a really big let down.
Are people a bit silly? Of course it's gonna be number 1 if you're selling a triple A franchise at half price that is not even 2 months old and it's the week before Xmas.
On another note, I know gaming is subjective but I've got more out of Mafia 3 than any game in a long time. Never been a COD man apart from COD 2 Campaign and Black Ops 1 Maps (superb maps) and Battlefield players are just too good for me to play with. Take a year out Activision and somebody make a damn realistic Vietnam game, along the lines of the Bad Company 2 expansion. That will sell.

Spot ****ing on. And to add, because of the utter failure of Infinite Warfare and the desperation of retailers to out do each other in clearing the stock, Activision shoved in MTs and Melee Supply Drops etc into Modern Warfare Remastered turning it into Modern Warfare Remake. We gamers may think because of this example of demise that people are waking up to this abhorrent practice, but unfortunately when games that are filled with this abhorrent practice of MTs and RNG Supply Drops etc get game of the year awards at the TGA's by the Doritos Pope and other media outlets, what message does that send to developers?

Heat for value but COD games are basic bitch entry level **** for teenagers and casuals. If you like the franchise, play it, but understand it's a generic FPS with little to no integrity. They have built a reputation and in turn the power to shove it in your face and convince the masses that it's a must have, that's why it's top of gaming charts, it has **** all to do with the quality of the game.
I adored CoD back in the day though, and pine for the simplicity of MW1/2 again. BO1 and MW3 were ok but the shift in their marketing/angle became so obvious.
Would love them to return to WW2 but themselves, MOH and Battlefield exhausted that theme back in early to mid 2000s.

I'd like to say Activision aren't stupid, but we both (all) know they are. But, the reality is that I think they have learnt from this mess. Infinite Warfare was the most disliked trailer EVER on YouTube. Regardless of the fact they wanted to admit it, they knew it was the case. It's **** for them, it's great for us. Hopefully they will stop tittying about with what the think is the way forward, and start to appreciate that WE know the way forward.
Sadly, WaW2 will look like a blatant rip off of BF1, but, if they do it as they did back in the day, Modern Warfare 4 could be **** (that will show as four letters, but I used 7 letters, beginning with f and ending in g) AWESOME. Bring it back Activision. Make CoD what it was

23 Dec 161#16
I agree with most of what you said but i would definitely buy this game for about £15 after playing the free trail (thanks for pointing that out) i enjoyed the MP more than BL3 mainly because in BL3 i felt i was losing unfairly as i would infrequently play and i felt my lower level rating was severely under powered and i kept dying to drones robotic spiders etc where as in IW it felt more like battlefield so you had a better fighting chance from the get go vs a leveled up player.
The funny thing is COD is meant to have 3 separate devs in a cycle but the template of IW was a near identical to BL3 but with worse MP maps and bare bones local coop features, BF1 is far superior.
My best guess is battlefield will go WW2 next so i can't see COD going back in time to make a WAW2 but i really do hope they will make a MWF4 without all this robotic crap that they fill their games up with now.

I wouldn't mind a blast at Modern Warfare myself but I also refuse to be a victim of their underhand tactic to shift more copies of this or willing to give up 130GB of my hard drive to it. I'm sorry, but to me, that means nothing. Over the years Activision have acquired a heard of sheep, unfortunately, they have created that ridiculous gaming chart. There are FAR better titles available at this time of year than this failing shower of ****. Damn, even the ever repetitive FIFA is more popular than this crap.
That wasn't my point though. AV knew what was happening this year, hence their hiding of MW behind IW. I'd like to be professional when I say it, but I can't. **** Activision and **** their paywall
