Went for some last minute shopping at Tesco and found that iPad Air 2 is being sold at £265 though the RRP mentioned as £379.
not sure if it is a glitch or Tesco planning to slash price for boxing day.

I was the first guy to be at the electricals desk at Slough store, my intention was to purchase 2, one for me and the other for my sister, but I then realised all the other people behind (5 - 6 people) me also were after this. They were all closely and anxiously huddled behind me waiting for the price to be scanned. One guy from behind 4th in queue spoke to me and said "excuse me is this the deal from HUKD, their £265" I think he wanted everyone to know he wanted one too so they all don't get too greedy. Because I'm a nice guy, I just bought 1 in the end so everyone else can get one too, but to be honest I'm so happy and very grateful to the OP. I feel bad for the people in the queue who missed out, should have been restricted to 1 per customer.

To those who are flaming the OP I can confirm that this is/was a 100% genuine deal. I, too, thought this would be a wild goose chase which is why I sent my husband out to Tesco Extra Slough this morning. He got there for 9am and went straight to the Electricals counter. There were two guys in front of him who each bough one and then my husband got the last two, the only colour they had left was rose gold. They're both sealed boxes - 32gb wifi model for £265. Happy to post the receipt if someone can tell me how. PS the other one was for my dad (we did not buy these to sell on).

Talking hardware. Hardware used in phones and tablets is about the same kind.
So I've seen a phone for sale for £85 it has snapdragon 801 soc, 2 ram 32storage.
I've seen a phone for £138 that has 4 ram 64 storage Snapdragon 820soc (about the best thing currently)
You bought tablets with 16 storage (probably 10 accessible to user) for £250 each and thought its a good deal? To what? To falling face down in a dog mess?

you must be joking... realistically the usability of the ipad is the highest of any tablet / laptop platform. I'm a fan of windows PCs and laptops, my primary work device is a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop, but i'm sorry - windows makes ZERO sense on a tablet or even hybrid tablet device.
Whenever I see people on the train to work struggling with full blown Outlook on various windows touchscreens I always think, if you just had an actual tablet, they would have sent their email by now. It's not even a comparison worth taking seriously - the iPad is an infinitely more usable device than the Yoga.
As for the CPU point, a) that would be totally irrelevant as it's the end performance that matters, and mobile Operating Systems have much lower overheads b) it is not true anyway, the Intel N3700 CPU in a similar priced Lenovo Yoga has a multi-core geekbench score of 2,570, the Apple A8X in the Air 2 has a multi-core geekbench score of 4,552.

I use an Android phone for home, iPhone for work and other than build quality the Android shats all over the iPhone for pretty much everything.
Equally my wife has an iPad and I have a Galaxy Tab S2 at home and the Galaxy destroys the iPad on pretty much everything apart from maybe speakers (which are poor on the S2) and the fact I can get FTL on the iPad. If your S2 runs slow by comparison I'd suggest there is something causing it.
Apple stuff is terribly overpriced for what it is, and having used both Apple and Android side by side for phone and tablets for well over a year I'm still amazed what Apple gets away with charging.

Like how people have stuff to say about Apple without trying one. I have Ipad air 2 and Also Galaxy Tab S2 which are roughly same price point. There is only 2 good things about S2 - Amoled screen, which is great and it is tad bit slimmer so good to hold. And that is roughly it. Thing is slow and unresponsive comparing to Ipad. All of us at home prefer Ipad - 90% of the time it is Galaxy that got picked up last.
There might be better Android tablets there but Ipad is still no. 1 choice for tablets IMHO.
And before calling me Apple fanboy I do use Android only as my mobile phone choice.

25 Dec 16#57
Either Tesco made an error on the sale price or it's a returned item, as there's no logic in them selling iPad's so cheap. As the OP must know the real story behind why they got it at a bargain price so why not divulge it, as I doubt they just got lucky at the till?
