Bought one from Amazon in warehouse deal. The water stinks of black plastic. It's unbearable. Haven't used since. I only paid £13 so havent sent it back either.

I have a bosch kettle (one that does bleeeeep) and it's by far the best kettle I've ever owned

suggests it's stainless steel. Mind you, I wouldn't touch a Bosch with a bargepole, the ones I've had have had very short lives.
