Think the spend has to be £1 to trigger the bonus points e.g. base nectar point is not awarded so the bonus points can't be triggered - if people are purchasing suggest to make sure spend is at least £1

Do you have to use east coast link on nectar website to get points? I've nectar card linked to my east coast account but I booked it directly without clicking nectar link. Not sure if I'll get points.

I panicked for a second then! But checked and, happily, for some reason, I'd previously linked my nectar card. I never book train tickets, find it all so complicated. Luckily I have a friend with 'Train Brain' to whom all the variables are easy, so my train friend books for me, on the odd occasion I travel by train. Feel sure I've linked my nectar card from a previous deal on here, ha. Probably one of the op's!

Wow! Thank you so much for this FREE MONEY op! I clicked through nectar app, bought the £1.15 ticket. Boom! A fivers worth of points that I'll save for double-up, a tenners worth of stuff! Over the moon with this deal! Thank you! Wish I could add heat twice, so pleased with this!

and make sure the train you choose is a East Coast VT. The website will allow you to book any train but T&Cs say the reward must be on a ECVT.

Use TheTrainLine and when you see the results, click the info button. You need it to show East Coast Virgin Trains. Scotrail is not ECVT.

If you think a few hundred guys booking Edinburgh to Haymarket tickets will mean no one can book Edinburgh to London tickets then the train companies better get their system sorted fast...
boyaloud
4 Dec 161#28
to answer some questions:
I assume they mean destinations serves by virgin trains east coast. from Edinburgh to Haymarket (under five minute journey) you can travel on Virgin east coast, scotrail, first transpennine, virgin west coast (often just called virgin trains), cross country. as such its a journey covered by virgin east coast. this particular ticket at £1.15 enables travel with any company.
it won't deprive anyone of travelling as its just a standard ticket. unlimited amounts can be sold making no difference to how many "advance" tickets are sold. "advances" are quota controlled.
I think £1 will be the minimum to trigger this offer.

Yeah I had to do an online chat with them, bizarrely they gave me 5 points for Virgin Trains (not East Coast), but did give me the bonus when I explained what it was.
I notice the new offer is 3000 points, but only if you spend £30 on Virgin Trains East Coast.
