Professional white blue yeti for £79.99. I was looking for one after missing out on the amazon deal. Free click and collect or £3.95 next day delivery if you order by 9pm.

Is this better than the blue waffle?

Either that's autocorrect or pretty damn kinky!

Nice podcast. I laughed at the British Ghostbusters cast.
Still haven't bought yet. Did you really get the SZC-500 for £25? Now you've said that, I kind of feel I'd be overpaying at ~£50 and might as well get the Yeti at £80 delivered.

He may also like to record with a friend, so I am still debating whether to get the Yeti for those features.
Really difficult decision. There's little information about the SubZero brand.

I use it for podcasting and it records at broadcast quality. Check out the Pile of Shame PC podcast, you'll hear me there.

Thanks. That sounds like a great bargain, was it really as cheap as £25?
My son wants a mic for Christmas. I was about to go for the Blue Yeti but now I'm thinking of this, SubZero SZC-500 including closed headphones - which I guess he'll also need.
If your son is only going to be using it on his pc/tablet, then this will be more than enough. You'd have to get a cheap mic stand to go on his desk.
The Yeti comes with its own stand and has different modes for side address, all around or duo modes, but if he is only using it by himself he'll never use them.
Had one for about 24 months, the USB port in the bottom crapped out on me. It seemed heavy and substantial enough, but there we go.
I've since bought a £25 SubZero mic, for podcasting at 128kbps it sounds the same as the Yeti.

The Rode NT-USB is on a lightning deal at £87.99 again for anyone who's interested:
Just had a quick review and most people say it's the best mic for its price range, just ordered one up as my current mic has literally died a couple days ago

Surprised people are commenting on the build quality on the yeti, as I bought one for my son during the Amazon Deal and I was surprised at how solid it was. Actually, you could use it as a doorstop!

Got the RODE NT-USB last week from Amazon, £87.99 on a flash deal. I think the build quality is a bit better than the Blue Yeti.
