I got this from homebase other week for £35. I got it out earlier today to chisel some brick with hammer mode was quite impressed. I think a lot of these drills at this price point dont have hammer without rotation but this one does.

Not according to spec and instruction manual. Probably the gear box has packed up, a couple of weeks is about right, or you have a different model.

Black & Decker are OK if your only going to use once or twice a year then throw it away after 5 years because the motor will have burned out ( I know this from experience ) Bosch either Blue or Green are way way better than the disposable Black & decker
