year cold votes for a device, that is switched on 24/7. What could possibly go wrong. Deathtraps waiting to happen
Probably safer than the millions of £1 chinese USB chargers that get bought every year, those things are probably left plugged in 24/7 and many more times likely to catch alight, electrocute, etc.

the 2.1A is shared between the two that puts me off.. not that i know of any on the market currently that'll do fast charge.

The 3.1amp is faster and a good option, but I don't think we will see a fast charge version of these. There is no fast charge standard so you have to use the correct charger for your device for fast charger to work.

about the only thing I don't turn off, at least these are designed to be left on 24/7. The USB in wall socket are passed under current safety conditions, there is no specific safety standards for these. just like the cheap nasty USB chargers people like to buy, direct from China.

Have you heard of any houses going up in flames or blowing the ring mains using these? I'm sure if they were that dangerous they would be banned or tougher safety laws put in place.

Anyone know of a double socket with USB that has mounting holes for a single back box??
One fridge freezer fire a week, just in London apparently, and Fridges and freezers do tend to contain large quantity of flammable plastics and insulation, which also give off toxic smoke.
On top of which, many have plastic backs which will help a fire caused by a fault spread to its interior :-
With USB mains sockets, I'd be more concerned about the separation between the dc components and the live components and the quality of the 5v output. Plus the added hassle of having to pop the circuit breaker and replace the socket whenever one fails.
You got me, when was the last time you worried about your ring mains? As long as you didn't buy some old decrepit run down house with poor mains wiring.
