How dire! The kids will laugh and it will be in the cupboard by 17:00.
This may seem like a nice nostalgia trip but it really isn't. I got one from the Mrs earlier this year and it lasted 10 minutes before being boxed back up and stuck on a shelf. It might have been longer if Pitfall had been included but as others have pointed out, it isn't.
The games are even more dire than you remember and your kids will have no nostalgic attachment to them, meaning they will just suck. I have one for sale if anyone wants it!
Heat for the price but still not worth it!

Dont see the point of these to be honest. For kids it's just novelty value for a short time and for us who remember these games you have to have ALL the best games to make it worthwhile not some half arsed collection.

Hasn't this Shargos offer been on for ages? I noticed it a week or two ago. Usual same old Shargos story though they are advertising and selling thin air with their offers. No stock for me within 60 miles at about 20 Shargos stores. Typical Shargos. Anyone actually found it in stock anywhere?

It helps me deal with my 'Argos' frustrations  is really annoying to see all these great HUKD deal posts but no stock. I am still baffled as to how this so called retailer gets away with it. It must be a right cushy number working in the fair trading or advertising standards office, what do these people actually do? Argos or Shargos as I tend to call them get away with so much.

PS join me Luke (or anyone) and call them Shargos, together we shall badmouth them across the galaxy.
Raspberry Pi and retropie is probably your best bet for retro games.

To anyone struggling with stock, try asking in or ringing the store (the former the better option).
The other day my store listed no Mega Drives being available online even though the internal store system did say they had loads of them.

We went to the Insomnia 59 gaming convention at NEC at the start of December and they had a huge section dedicated to old games. All set up so you could play them and a stand selling old game boys with games. https://insomniagamingfestival.com/

These were quite an envious Xmas present 30+ years ago but even then the controllers were absolutely awful..
Not to mention the fire button being on the wrong side, compared to virtually every arcade game that was out at the time!
For a tenner it might make an amusing novelty but there's far superior emulation options out there these days.
I even noticed the other day that Facebook messenger has what appears to be perfect versions of space invaders and galaga for free now - only problem is playing with an LCD screen for the controls...
