I found the complete opposite with my t100 the battery would last 4 hours on a good day and drain as fast as using it when in sleep meaning I had to power it off completely to not have to charge it permanently.
In the end my battery has just decided to decide when to work lately with it randomly deciding not to turn on one day and then working the next.
Its the 2nd asus product that has had poor battery performance for me (the first being a zenfone 2) I find they work fine for about 6-12 month then develop a battery that is great one day and poor the next.
My grandad developed the same issue with his zenfone 2 which makes me think its not just me that suffers but its nice to know someone has better luck with asus battery life than me.

Is the quality of Skype video calls on this device any good?

Skype quality would be bad compared to a good webcam like the logitech 920 but it would probably suffice for most people.
