It's a router, but doesn't include a fibre modem like the all in one boxes that Sky/BT/Virgin offer. That leaves you with a few options:
1.) Buy a fibre modem from Ebay or similar
2.) Connect this to your Sky/BT/Virgin hub and use the modem in that
3.) Buy the DSL version of this router which has a fibre modem built in
I used option 1.) when I got my one of these about three years ago. I then got a BT fibre modem from ebay for a tenner and hooked it up together. I've used it with Sky Fibre and BT Infinity, setup is pretty simple if you follow some of the online guides.

I use the 66 hard wired to the original superhub plus a couple of range extenders as well (detached garage security cams) and it works just fine.
Comments indicated it was out of stock for delivery. Apologies if I was mistaken

I have a BT Smart Hub (the latest one) all the reviews state it's the best router from an ISP, but I keep getting dropped connections and the signal doesn't go as far as I need. Does anyone know if this Asus would be an upgrade in terms of performance?
Solid router. Using custom firmware (Merlin) and easily one of the best performing one I've bought in terms of reliability, wireless signal, QoS, etc. Always nice to see we use almost 50GB a month watching YouTube videos between us :sunglasses::sunglasses:

can anyone recommend a good fiber modem to use with this? I've got an ee brightbox 2 which can't be put into modem only mode (I wouldn't want to use it anyway as modem connection isn't good).

Just swapped my HH5 for the modem router version of this, the DSL-AC68U. Was £98 at Curry's, it's better for those who don't want the clutter of a separate modem and router, easy to set up and miles better connection!

I have two of these in my home and they are top notch. Use with a fibre modem and by infinity. Great price
or would you say to stick with the one in the post and buy a BT open reach modem off eBay that are about £25? (would any BT modem do?) my main issue with our EE box currently is the range.

I strongly advise anyone against the DSL version, instead buy an Openreach HG612 from eBay and use in conjunction with this deal.
