Just noticed my local Poundland (Bromley) has started selling these antique style bulbs with the exposed filament. They're not bad for a pound.. perhaps a little too bright so the filament isn't as clear and it gives off a VERY orange/yellow glow...

I run a generic hipster bar/coffee shop and these are so expensive to replace usually. Thanks OP :man:
Now all I need is a cheap deal on some copper piping and a knock off price on some antique books, preferably with authentic dust.

Unbelievable! Having ordered these from ebay before to lower the cost as I have a 'antique' looking glass lamp that looks pretty naff with a standard bulb. Hope I can find this in my local, will be stocking up and displaying around the house!
No good for ceiling lights, more for decorative lamps etc unless you have good eyes and can adjust to the yellow shade

Not really for illuminating - more a visual interest thing, but considerably cheaper than elsewhere - will try and establish what power rating - may be more use as a spare heater than a lamp!

You can get similar in led. Obviously not at that price. About £8 but they will reduce your consumption and they have some ridiculously long life term. I just fitted three, dimmable in the dining room.

IKEA sell LED versions but they're quite.. obvious so to speak. The filament is the right colour but very thick!

I've got LEDs everywhere nowadays, will buy as a curiosity. Would be all over them if it was LED, only a matter of time, of course

That's funny because I have a barbers shop and I need the same things to compliment my leather aprons, cut-throat razors and a price-list so high that I make more money per hour than a properly skilled craftsman.

I've been in there. Yeah it's pricey but you get a free beer whilst you wait so that makes it good value overall. Happy to pay £50 to have my beard trimmed and rubbed with oil.
