For Sony or "pure Android experience" users, too - the alternative out of the box is so horrible that even 10 quids would be good price.
I didn't notice that at all (and I have two Z5's, one with Nova and one without, both on 6.0.1, although different carrier and patchlevel, so I can compare). The - literally - only problem I have with Nova is that "Google now", which is supposed to work from any screen, is not always working when Nova is in foreground.

Not sure I'd benefit from the features the Prime version gives, been using the free one for donkey's years but still, for 50p that's a bargain. I'd never run an Android phone without it.

I hate MIUI with a passion, you can't even change app icons and there's no app drawer. I don't know how Xiaomi can think people want that interface! So I'm forced to use Nova to get stock Android back because I don't want to install CM.

To be fair, Huawei use it as well and the reason is the Chinese. They prefer the iOS look and feel whereas Western Android users tend to prefer the AOSP design.

You need to set it default launcher.
dzzd to 1n24n3
18 Dec 161#27
No, once you set it as your default launcher, Nova will work all of the time without you needing to tap on its icon. With Huawei phones they make it a little bit tricky to find in the settings. Just watch this quick video and it shows you how to set Nova as the default on Huawei phones - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zujeCxTJNU

I hate the fact that you have to pay to make an android phone work properly. I bought an android based on everyone telling me they were better than iPhone as they're so customisable. it turns out you have to pay for the customisations and even then it's nowhere near as slick as an iPhone. wish I'd stuck with apple, yes they're expensive but at least you don't have to pay extra to get a launcher that works well.

I think you'll find other 'free' launchers out there too! Even in stock or other manufacturers UI there's still more customisations you can do than ios.
Based on your comment it doesn't actually sound like you have ever explored the Google Play store, i'd suggest taking another look.
You don't even need to purchase Nova Launcher, it's free. The paid for version is to support the developers and give you a few additional features as a thank you, it's certainly not required.
As for having to download a launcher at all to make Android more useful that's subjective, as each manufacturer does their own take on a launcher, some are good, some are bad. Then you have power users who wan't something more.
All the themes, apps and widgets I have installed are actually free. However i did purchase Nova a few years to support the developers. I dont think i actually use any of the features in the purchased version though.

Dude i kept iphone since launch and only moved to Android nexus 6p this year. It is best decision i have ever made with phone. I believe moving to android experience depends upon which handset you are moving to. Customisation is definitely plus point for android but there are different launchers with different experience and options. Not everyone will like every option so they choose launcher based on what they want. There are lot of good free launchers in google play. Even nova basic version is good enough.

Decent launcher but it never could replace the stock launcher on my Xperia Z3 which is just faster at opening apps. Nova always had a annoying noticeable delay from touching the icon to the app opening, whereas stock Z3 is instant.

no just log in to Google play using the credentials as when you bought the app. all your purchases are saved on your Google play about. There are other ways also, I.e. Sony have an app that transfer practically everything on to your new Sony phone
