Does anyone have the actual eligibility criteria - as I have an AMEX Gold and a green TrueEarnings and cannot use the code, I thought it was because I was trying to by from a third-party but changing that didn't help. Good deal, registered my gold card for the points scheme on amazon, ordered Dishonored 2 plus a 1p SIM to get to £25, £15 off plus 2p in points plus I had a few quid in gift card balance I had forgotten about.

Note that this doesn't work on supplementary cards (in case you have one) only on the main card for the account.

You can only see the option, if you have an eligible amex card (where you get membership point). I have BA amex card which is not eligible. Amazon knows how many amex points you have on the card you have used.

You got this error because you have used amex card which is not eligible or you are trying to buy a item not fulfilled by Amazon.

Membership Rewards are normally on charge cards and not on credit cards. I am yet to see a non Amex issued card get Membership Rewards points. And looks like Amex has restricted the offer to a small group of people.

Although getting the offer by email today and following the instructions to the letter, I can't get this to work... I've tried various amounts of points from 1p to £5 to the full value of the item, and all the different delivery options, and I keep getting "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." in red text. Ok, it works on my AMEX Gold card - the item must be 'sold by Amazon EU SARL', not FBA, not Prime, that's the thing, but a great find and when I find an item that is sold by Amazon I will definitely use this code for an easy saving.

Correct, the BA Amex is an Avios card and is not enrolled in the Membership Rewards scheme. Only cards that earn Membership Rewards points can be used to get this discount as those are the currency used to get the discount.

That therefore means Amex cards earning other currencies (e.g. Nectar) will also not be eligible for this offer.

SOLVED... my problem solved anyway :-)

I had a £15 promotion available from Amazon (Audible) and even though I unticked "use this promotional balance" it was obviously affecting my ability to use the Amex promotion. So, I bought something and used the £15 Audible promotional amount, and then went back and placed a different order for something else, and this time the Amex code was accepted.

Bit of an edge case, but if anyone else has this issue, maybe it's the answer!

Again, Platinum everyday is a cashback card and you dont get any membership reward points.

Has anyone else got their British weir ways American Express card enrolled? I can't find any sensible answer from Amazon nor Amex staff. Keep trying to enroll it in the rewards programme and keep getting different error messages each time.

You can't use BA amex card for this offer as it is not a membership reward and card - you have an avios card which is different. You need to have either Rewards Gold, Platinum charge or a centurion card :smiley: hope this helps
