Aye, I know what you mean. Wasn't sure myself at first, but had a look at them in store and thought they weren't too bad. Luckily they still had my size available online (earlier on).

Got the 9.5s in Grey. Usually a size 9 in trainers but glad I went up a size.
Very comfy, a little "out there".
Keep your socks clean as they show through the side meshing.
