Just a wee update, since updating all drivers in 'device manager' I have had no shut downs.

Got this laptop from Very, it has backlit keyboard and was advertised as i5 6200U and 8GB DDR4 (2x 4GB) but came with i5 7200U and 1x 8GB DDR4. The 4GB GDDR5 950M performs very well, I played Fallout 4 on medium and high settings and it was smooth and entirely playable. Don't get the hate for the screen, who uses a laptop other than right in front of you. Screen is bright and colourful. Word of warning though, mine has been shutting down completely, powering off. Discovered a lot of the cpu drivers were for the i5 6200U, so updated the drivers and the entries changed to 7th Gen Intel so i'm hoping that was causing the issue and its now corrected. Impressed with this laptop so far.

Would this be good for video/photo editing (premiere pro, photoshop) and some light gaming? Mainly just want to play NBA2K17 and Shenmue 3 when it comes out.

I've gone for the one from Very with the slightly older processor and 128gb SSD.
if I get the £100 credit on top of the 10% then it'll work out sub £500
A word of warning, these have actually been out of stock for at least 2 weeks, my brother ordered one 28th Nov, still hasn't shipped.

Sounds like a good spec. Can anyone recommend something similar but with a better display (e.g. IPS)?

Would probably bite but I need portability and performance, 2.5kg seems just a tad heavy. Nonetheless the price is really good for the specs, heat.

Anyone know if this has a backlit keyboard?
Cannot find any mention on EBuyer site.

One of the reviews on the site does mention a backlit keyboard but I would chat with ebuyer to confirm.

Flubit was giving me £12.18 off but for what ever reason my bank declined the transaction. They were happy to pay £1.50 for me to become and elite member! Sighhhhhhh.
Flubit is now 1.1% via Quidco! More sighhhhh.
