Have just replaced 5 leds over work areas in kitchen with Home Bargains Luminate GU 10 5watt 370 lumens cool white for £1.19 each and they are equal to 50watt halogens ,really bright worth a look.

I bought a bunch of these when they were 5 for £5 6+ months ago. Not a single failure yet and I was surprised that even though it says 30W equivalent they are every bit as bright as the 50w halogens they replaced. Given I swapped out almost 30 in my house they've shaved a bit off the electric bill.
Very pleased with them. Just make sure you check warm or cool white as they have both options.

I think most of the failures for led sold in major shops are due to poor wiring and poor light fittings. I rewired our house 3 years ago and have had no failed leds.

I'd rather just buy a good bulb that wont fail to save the trouble of leaving them back periodically only to be replace with... you guessed it... another bulb that will fail early!
