Waste of time "The credit card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully." snide offer anyway as it wont let you add £25.

Finally it worked I managed to add £30 for £25. I did it through the PS4 if anyone else is still struggling I did nothing differently so I'm not sure what the problem was.

5000 redemptions? Oh come on that wouldn't last very long!

Just got back from family for Christmas hoping to get £30 for £25 - now im not i begrudge buying anything from the store sale because i know im paying £5 more than i should. Nobody gets what they want.

To anyone that did it and didn't get the £5 off, contact PayPal by phone. I talked to a nice woman who gave me a £10 refund because I tried it twice, even though this was a one time thing she said she'd do it for both! So glad it didn't work for me! Haha.

clicked link to activate offer. signed into paypal as part of that. psn not working correctly via mobile so used pc to buy £30 credit. Used my default paypal account which was the one I activated the offer on anyway. Shows as £30 in psn wallet. logged into paypal. shows £25 taken. I also did get an email thanking me for using the offer. Thanks

now just wondering if I can use same psn account to top up from a different paypal account...

I keep getting "The credit card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully." when trying to check out with paypal. using the psn website (chrome) and same results with firefox.

Getting the same problem when trying to top through the PS4 too :disappointed:

edit: I signed into paypal and went to the billing agreement and changed the 2nd payment option to my card as it was blank (first one is paypal balance), Now when I try to top up through the web browser I get "Currently unable to add funds to your account. Please try again later." not sure if its just a coincidence the message changed or if psn are having problems but my paypal account as been fine all day I've used it several times. I also tried through the ps4 again but still no luck, I'll try again later or tomorrow.

Btw I've just had to look online as I couldn't find how to add funds as a top up - for those in the same situation, it's through settings, then PSN, and then wallet (or something similar) - it doesn't seem to be something that you can do via the store.

I had card error. As per previous posts...... add voucher using the deal button, log in to your PS4 and top up on the console using PayPal. Check your email receipt and you will see £30 deducted £5.
iShoey
25 Dec 16 2 #125
1. Add voucher to your account first before doing anything. use link!
2. use the exact same paypal account to top up
3. top up £30
4. check your paypal email, it will say topped up £30, -£5 = charged £25

5. setting paypal as your default payment can avoid confusion.

You will lost 30p but it's worth because if you topup psn wallet with any payment method, it's non refundable. who knows this paypal offer will work or not. i know how you feel mate, however who hacked my account did the exact same changed the I'd and password and email also, they made two subaccounts and even though the account was reinstated for me and my access only I initiated two step verification and not on the advise of Sony I found this out my self may I add and further more to this as their has been two subaccounts that I didn't create they were still able to spend the full £120.00 stole from the account. as Sony don't listen unfortunately if you charge back Sony will suspend your account as they believe you accessed you account and made payments I had to await them refunding me the payment their higher escalations are located in Scotland maybe try and speak with them for a resolution if it help? they did assist me after a long old Slog of a battle.

Anyone tried topping up £25 and only paying £20?
Dr_Bawbag
25 Dec 16 1 #78
Thanks. Worked for me. However, I deleted my PP account from my PSN straight after. I couldn't give a jot if Sony had a 27 step verification with and an almost impossible decryption piece of software in place, I wouldn't trust Sony with any sort of financial information. Props to those who leave their bank/PP/card details on there, but I learned my lesson a few years ago. Add to that, Sony customer service are truly awful.

25 Dec 16 #75
So before this thread went live I couldn't see a £25 top-up option. I decided to go £20 then £5 because the T's and C's read as if it's £35 or more during the offer period (rather than a single transaction of £25). I managed to get the £20 but ever since, it's been refusing the £5 top-up because of 'invalid card details'.
Anyone know if I'm on the right lines with the two transactions or do I need to contact PayPal for a refund?

Ta and merry Christmas!

This is less than a 17% discount. There are frequent offers for Xbox credit that offer a 20-25% saving (e.g. £50 credit for under £40, or £25 credit for under £20), or sometimes even better.

Similar thing happened to me. Someone deposited almost £100 from my Paypal account into my Sony account and changed my Sony sign on ID so I couldn't log in with my email address. I spotted it straight away as Paypal and Sony had sent me confirmation emails of this being done.

I rang Sony straight away and requested they refund the money as it hadn't been spent yet (I pretty much rang as soon as I got the email). They helped me to reset my sign on ID and said they would investigate the matter. I also let Paypal know who recovered the money for me after concluding their investigations after a week.

Sony being ever so helpful ended up suspending my account as there had been a charge back and they hadn't finished their investigation. I had to ring them a few times on a weekly basis for 2 months in order for them to re-instate the online functions for my PS plus account. I wasn't letting the matter go as I had bought games using the account and didn't want to start afresh. Having your PS plus account suspended severely restricts what you can do - I couldn't even use Netflix, Now TV etc.

After complaining weekly for 2 months I eventually got my account fully functioning again as they came to the conclusion my account had been compromised and I wasn't at fault. It still left me bitter though as I don't understand what took them so long to investigate as Paypal's investigation had been a lot quicker and the money hadn't actually been spent as the funds were still in my account.

To top it all off Sony refused to give me a complimentary 2 months or so for the time I had been without PS Plus. I argued that as I have to pay for PS Plus I should be entitled to an extra couple of months being added to my account as I had been without the service for that time but they truly didn't give a damn.

So, would I be able to make a purchase of 32.99 for example?

Yeah invalid card for me also, now message has changed to 'currently unable to add funds to your account, try again later' nothing has changed since the last time I funded this way other than maybe a lot more people are trying to do it before Xmas lunch

I personally wouldn't use PayPal or a bank card ever again! my account got hacked last month and the worst experience ever had to battle with Sony to get a refund since someone stole the full amount and used it on FIFA 17 points PayPal wouldn't refund me dispite it being fraud as when you use PayPal you agree to a user agreement it took weeks to get a refund from Sony and count less hours on the phone Sony take over an hour to answer on occasions and its just not worth the hassle to if you still want to use PayPal go ahead as it is a real S#!t experience!

Just do what I have just done. Added the £30 cost £25 and then removed my PayPal details. I only use pre paid cards
