To take advantage of this offer simply load the Cineworld offer to your card and buy a gift card with £15 on it.
AmEx will activate the offer and you are rebated £5. It states you can do this twice per card with the offer loaded.
Now anything you spend on that giftcard you've only paid 66p in every £1 for. Handy if you don't spend much each time you visit (like me) and don't want to do a big £15 purchase of junk food in one transaction!
Rant:
Cineworld don't have a virtual unlimited card on their app and it's jolly annoying carting the card around everywhere!
ok so this has been posted before but looks like its not getting deleted so, remember you can use this twice, buy 2 £15 gift cards in separate transactions and get £5 back each time. Plus, you can also get this on supplementary cards with the same terms.

Also worth noting that if you have a Starbucks in your Cineworld you can do the same trick by buying a £15 gift card to get a £5 rebate. 33% discount on your hot drink and cakes for the movie

They didn't tell me about the PPI, I've got a meeting with my solicitor about it next week.

I also don't get the rant. You can't expect to be let in when you forget your card. I don't go to the football on a Saturday and expect to be let in without my ticket.
Stick to the deals not the rants
All cinema food is vastly inflated because it's where they make their profit, and they have a captive audience of people who buy it anyway. Anything you can get off it is a bonus, so the deal is hot here (if you have an AMEX!)

I want a virtual card in their Cineworld app that's all.
I've paid my subs so make it as easy as possible to access the service please Cineworld.

Does this have to me an actual AMEX issued card, or can you use these offers with a 'Barclaycard AMEX' too?
The offer appeared on my homepage of my BA Premium Plus Amex. Not sure how it works on the Barclaycard issued Amex.

Agree on the card front. Scan the tickets or qr code then using same device do facial recognition with the camera.

Thanks for the link. I've signed up and registered my card but barely see any offers. I see o2 Lounge and lots of brands I've never heard of - paperbear, oliver bonas etc. Maybe I'll see more offers in the future, assuming this is the main site where you get presented with them.

Doesn't look like you have it :disappointed:
I wonder if you just got a basic free amex whether you would get all the deals then?

There isn't even an offers page/section on the Barclaycard website. The only offer I ever see is something called 'Fee free friday' for purchasing gig/event tickets but thats a barclay run thing for their own arena. Other than that, nothing. So the link the op sent me actually did show some offers on that separate website.
Be good if someone else using a Barclaycard AMEX see's this comment should they have tried it also failed/got it working etc.
I saw your deal when it was first posted but I just thought it was a heads up post and didn't read anything. Only after I posted this and someone mentioned it I looked through and saw that you discuss the same approach. Think I need to read things that don't spring out at me more in case there's some information in there that makes it usable.

Used to get all the offers but 2016 has been very poor. They must have changed it.

So you can buy a cineworld gift card anywhere or you must purchase from cineworld?

No £15 gift cards so need to spend minimum of £20.00 to get the £5.00 cashback

No worries, glad you managed to make the most of the deal!
I'll definitely be reading those amex posts forensically from now on!
