Yes that's what i was told avoid the cheapo scopes and go for a good set of bins till you get the hang of it and then upgrade never used anything like this myself was looking at buying it for somebody.

That's not true either though. The ones to avoid are the cheap Chinese produced scopes with plastic optics. If you're after a decent starter scope try here.
I started off with a celestron 114eq, couldn't really get the hang of it. Few years ago went for a 127slt which is still firmly in the budget end of scopes, absolutely love it, I'd be lost without computer control. Best bang for your buck, if you're interested in visual astronomy rather than taking photographs are the dobsonian mounted ones. Bins are always good to have too, if my scope is taking videos of Jupiter or I have my DSLR attached then I often get my bins out.

Please don't buy that telescope, you'll put kids off astronomy for life. Pair of binoculars will be a million times better.

Note quidco require claims within 72 hours unlike TCB - been caught by that before! Mine has been put on hold for some reason though...

Thanks OP. I ordered and opted for 'Click and Collect'.
I then got an email saying I get an additional 20% off for 'clicking and collecting'.
So I got 10% off initially, then 21% tracked on TCB, and now an additional 20% off my next purchase.

Now 12% at Quidco

But they will double the difference and topcashback are offering 21% today so that's a healthy 30% by shopping through Quidco and then claiming the double the difference. Claiming is quite easy.

Beware - The Works often have high Quidco cashback offers but they rarely pay up. They get so far as 'confirmed' but never 'paid'. This has happened to me several times in last 2 years (one was for £7 which I had factored in when making the purchase). It is a false deal if you are counting on the cashback.

The Works has an up to 30% discount code on the top of their page - MEGA30 (which is the same code for the 10% and 20% discounts shown too) - however, it doesn't work with their own 'free delivery over £10' so just work out which is the best deal for you.

It's 12% now at Quidco, but it's 21% at Topcashback.
