International version with Global ROM and B20 800mhz 4G support. Full specifications
Gold or Grey options available.
Grey 2/16GB is £5 more than Gold both are same price for 3/32GB
For those that are thinking of the Grey 2/16GB model and don't want to spend the £5 over the gold, Gearbest have it for £112.29
OTA updates. Comes with MIUI 7 but can be updated to MIUI 8. Flashing own Global ROM is recommended though
Shipping from HK so potential import duty.
'Kate' model is about 2.5mm taller than standard Note 3 Pro 'Kenzo' model

For me, it shows as $40 more. About £32 extra. I figured that since any potential customs charges would be £20ish max, it wasn't worth mentioning in the description
It will work right out of the box. It has Global ROM which means it'll include play store etc and it has OTA updates which means you don't need to plug it into computer to update. It also has expandable storage. Chinese phones aren't for everyone and there may be similar alternatives from UK retailers but being a user of an older Xiaomi model, I'd recommend them.
Yeah, the options with "Official International" in the name would refer to 'Kate' version and those without such as "3+32GB Gold" would be the standard Note 3 Pro 'Kenzo'. As for case, I think you'll find barely any that specifically state they're made for the 'Kate' model. There is a "Package B" choice on Geekbuying for the 'Kate' options which includes a soft case and tempered glass but I'm not sure how well they'd fit.
Here's a lengthy XDA forum thread discussing cases and screen protectors for 'Kate' version with some people posting photos and links for ones they bought. This comment mentions this case from Gearbest and says it fits. There's probably plenty of other choices since the thread has 300+ comments. There's official cases from the Taiwan MI site that people on xda got by using a shopping agent since I assume Taiwan MI site don't ship internationally. Sounds like a lot of hassle though and probably costly.

Kenzo is the original version. Kate is the International version that supports Band 20. Phones are given names like this to easily identify them.

They're the model code names. 'Kate' = Special Edition with B20. 'Kenzo' is the Standard Note 3 Pro. Original Note 3 (non Pro) was code named 'Hennessy'
Thats the Original Note 3 (non Pro) model which has Mediatek and lack of microSD. Also no B20 support. The model, in this deal is called Overseas Edition on Gearbest but they only do 2/16GB model and Edit: it's slightly cheaper by a few pennies

12 Nov 16#12
For the price point it's great value. I can't comment on performance as I don't have this phone in particular, but I do have an older model which has been perfectly fine for me. If you search 'Redmi Note 3 Pro' in Hukd search, you'll find quite a few threads in the past that'll have comments from users who've bought them and what their thoughts are. There's also plenty of reviews on various sites and youtube too, to help you determine the performance and whether they're any good or not.

The one thing putting me off these devices is the firmware. I really like stock or as close to stock as possible, so I can add the functionality I like. Why can't they just release them with a stock version

12 Nov 16#18
I think 'Kenzo' has AOSP and Cyanogenmod roms which are nearly the same as stock but not sure about 'Kate'. There's usually some caveats to them though. I know for Redmi Note 2, one of them was that camera functionality wasn't as good due to PDAF, HDR, slow motion etc not being covered. Later models probably aren't fully optimised for it either.
Yeah, this was one of the phones I mentioned. I don't think it's a rival to Galaxy Note 4 though but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, this would definitely be more comparable than the Redmi 4A

Nearly right, Kate is an updated version with band 20 (800Mhz) amongst others; and a newer, MUCH better multi-core cpu set up.
Both versions can run International ROMs, and include GooglePlay, but the original version wont work with a large part of the UK 4G network outside of the big towns and cities.
I am guessing they bought a job lot in the Ali Express 11.11 sale, where the prices were about £5 per unit cheaper than they are asking, and also only available in the two colours, as the other colours werent in the sale.

Are you sure you aren't confusing Kenzo with Hennessy? Kate has the exact same processor as the original Note 3 Pro - Kenzo. However, the first Note 3 (non Pro) has the MTK processor. It was when the Note 3 updated to Note 3 Pro that it got the processor upgrade along with microSD support which was excluded in original Note 3. Kate is just a Note 3 Pro (Kenzo) with B20 support.
I've got the 3/32gb version I'm typing on now. quality phone. really quick. much faster than the Sammy A5 mentioned above if you believe antutu scores. gets about 78k vs 41k for the A5. great thing is the 4100mah battery. I go to bed with 78pc left most days, 50 on a weekend (64% now on Saturday at 10pm). ordered the 16/2gb version for the wife about a week ago to replace her Moto g2. apparently scores marginally lower but not noticeable.

12 Nov 163#26
In my opinion, I don't think it's worth it. Whilst it may technically be an updated version, there isn't really anything that's necessarily 'better' than the Note 3 Pro. A lot would consider Snapdragon being better than Mediatek. My phone has Mediatek and it's fine but the Note 4 having a MTK deca-core just seems like jargon to entice people into thinking it performs better. I'd say it won't be that different to the hexa-core Snapdragon in the Note 3 Pro. If B20 support isn't an issue and you wanted the extra memory, then perhaps you'd choose it. But otherwise I wouldn't pay extra on the basis of having a 'better' performing phone.

The Gearbest one looks like a good bet. I had one in my basket during the recent Aliexpress deal but their stupid compulsory warranty annoyed me so much I just left it. I take it the best idea is to go for standard rather than expedited shipping to reduce the risk of customs charges?

I bought my daughter the 2gb 16gb version back in June again no problems and 2 days ago i purchased this special edition in the aliexpress 11/11 deals for 123 pound i highly recommend this phone i have had 5 chinese phones over the past 8 years and these xiaomi phones are the best they are fast becoming one off the top mobile manufactures. hope this helps you decide.heres a link to youtube video showing how to disassemble one you get a idea of the quality link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrzSCJVYBpY

Keep in mind that Gearbest one is for the non B20 version, so it won't work on 4G with networks which have it as it's only 4G frequency. Edit: As the following person pointed out it's actually the Hennessy original with Mediatek which also lacks microSD card slot as well. Standard generally means less risk from having read though phone threads. If DHL is the expedited courier, then apparently that almost guarantees customs.
Kenzo is bisexual and was in a gay relationship with Hennessy but ran off with Kate because Hennessy was a drunkard. Hennessy is getting drunk on himself.
It's basically different versions. Kenzo and Kate are both Redmi Note 3 Pro whereas Hennessy is alcohol... I mean... Redmi Note 3 (original). Whilst the processor did change between standard and Pro, it's not always the case since Kate is just Kenzo with 800mhz 4G frequency supported. List of various Xiaomi code names.

13 Nov 162#58
This page may be of use but usually what will determine whether or not it works on all UK networks is 4G band 20 800mhz since it isn't covered by a lot of Chinese phones whereas the others will be.
If using mobile browser, currency switch is at the bottom of each page. If on desktop, mouse over the currency text for a drop down menu.
If you want to just install Google apps it's usually a simple case of downloading an installer, enabling your phone to install from unknown sources and then installing it. This guide is for MI5. Installer looks to be Chinese text but apps will be English. This guide is for all MIUI and appears to be the same installer but in English. Xiaomi started locking the bootloader of their devices a while ago so switching ROMs becomes more hassle. I would still recommend looking into it though. Sellers tend to use vendor ROMs which can have even more Chinese bloatware than the Chinese Xiaomi ROM. Being able to flash the Xiaomi Global ROM will include the Google apps but also it'll have no Chinese apps.

My thoughts on this is its a really good phone performance wise, Muiu is a decent OS and you probably won't get better for the price - however as a main phone the camera is average/poor - if you aren't that fussed by a camera then go for it, this price is good, I got one for £142 recently and used it for a couple of weeks and then sold it on eBay for a profit when I decided I couldn't live with the camera - oh, battery life is great too

Not quite sure of the simplicity but the first hurdle is that you have to unlock the bootloader since Xiaomi started locking it. A potential problem with custom ROMs is that most are for the original Note 3 Pro 'Kenzo' whereas this is the Note 3 Pro 'Kate'. The root guide linked above says it's for 'Kenzo' and most of the custom ROM threads on XDA state 'Kenzo' in the title. There's this thread for Kenzo/Kate. At the bottom it says Kenzo ROMs will work with Kate if it's not MIUI apparently.

The Redmi 3 line is a smaller 5" phone with 720p screen, whereas this deal is part of the Redmi Note line which are 5.5" 1080p phones. Original Redmi 3 was SD616, the 2nd iteration, 3S used SD430. The Redmi 4 standard has the same SD430 as the 3S. The Redmi 4 Prime that you linked however, has a SD625 and also the first in that line to have 1080p screen. For Redmi 3 there'd be no variation in ram/rom for a specific model. E.g 3S would be 2/16GB but the 3S Prime is 3/32GB. However, for Redmi Note 3, the Original and Pro versions each have 2/16GB and 3/32GB variations which can cause confusion between these 2 lines. Mines is the Redmi Note 2.
I think the Redmi 4 Prime looks appealing and probably the only one of the 3 Redmi 4's that are worth getting. Geekbuying sell it too and was posted here yesterday. Not sure how long it'd be for a global ROM but the Prime is the only 1 that has a spec boost over the Redmi 3 versions. The 4A is a more cheap basic model which I assume was to broaden their buyer audience. The Redmi 4 standard seems like the same exact same as 3S but in a different housing. The 3S Prime is technically better since it has 3/32GB.

This thread might be of use but there's a lot of comments. You could try searching for aliexpress on the thread search and find links from people which apparently fit.
Basically some retailers will install their own custom version of the ROM known as a 'vendor ROM' and whilst it may be the Global ROM with Google Play etc, it could* potentially include other crapware/adware. Try searching for 'Xiaomi vendor ROM' and you'll find quite a few forum threads about it.
Not sure about actual delivery time but might be a while till dispatch. If you read the most recent comments on this thread it appears they take ages to dispatch but I'd definitely expect it to arrive in time for Christmas! I'd say early December at the latest although I've never ordered from them.

When you say
"The 3S Prime is technically better since it has 3/32GB"
With the "3S Prime" being 430 cpu v "4 Prime" 625 cpu same memory surey the 4 Prime is compelling for 5"?

There are some people who use Xiaomi phones with the China ROM and just installed Google apps themselves so I guess it would be an option for people who are eager to get it. Only noticing your edit asking about what I said at the end. That part about 3S Prime being technically better, was referring to the Redmi 4 standard version in comparison, not the 4 Prime. The 4 Prime is better than all Redmi 3 versions. I mentioned at the start of the comment that Redmi 4 standard uses the same SD430 as 3S. However Redmi 4 standard is 2/16GB whereas 3S Prime is 3/32GB so Redmi 4 standard is more like a 3S. In terms of spec it seems like 4 Prime>3S Prime>4 and 3S.

I have had the original Xiaomi Note for 3 years, and not only is it still more than fast enough for day to day use, but the battery is still good for a couple of days use, and they still issue OS updates for it.
To answer some comments, the original Note 3 had a Mediatek X10 core CPU, the new version has a Qualcom X6 core Snapdragon 650
Think of flashing as being similar to clean installing Windows. Flashing custom ROMs can also change the UI since not all Android phones are the same. Samsung's Touchwiz and HTC's Sense UI for example will be different from Google's stock Android. Xiaomi's UI is MIUI. This will come with MIUI Global which has Google Play etc and it'll work out of the box. Flashing isn't required to make it work.
It's possible neither of them will get Nougat. Not sure if you saw my reply to the person replying to your Android N question on the Mi Max thread a few days ago.
No problem. I have a feeling the updater app method is only if you wanted to change within the same type. e.g from Global stable to Global developer. However China to Global isn't the same and needs flashed via recovery which requires unlocked bootloader. Not 100% certain though since I've been on Global since the start.

Ah, right. This, I didn't know. I'm actually after either Mi5 or Mi5s plus, as they both have a global ROM available. I guess I need to find a seller with global pre installed.

Chinese sellers take between 3 and 7 days to ship on most websites even Aliexpress, it's the nature of the game, don't order from china if you want something in a hurry.
qwerta369

Aliexpress doesn't allow Paypal, so sellers can be more relaxed.
In fact, since every seller will also be present on other sites like Gearbest, that do allow Paypal, they will make sure they ship those orders first, to keep buyers happy.
But Aliexpress prices are maybe 5 pounds cheaper, so people go for that, even though they lose out on Paypal protection.

The thing with companies that provide services is that not one of them have 100% satisfied customers. Whether it be retailers, broadband providers, hotels, banks, restaurants, payment systems or pretty much anything else, you'll find cases of people having a bad experience. It is expected that a company provides the service that it is advertised to. So when people receive that service, they aren't going to be posting stories online about how expectations were met since it isn't out of the ordinary. However if something bad does happen, people are eager to let others know and warn them away. So I don't doubt you'll find cases online to support your views but it doesn't exactly give an indication of the percentage that it happens to, nor does it give others an idea of the likelihood of it happening to them, since you have no idea how many people use it without any problems. PayPal now have over 192 million active users worldwide. Even if 192 thousand people reported bad cases, it would still suggest 99.9% of users without issues. PayPal's percentage of users that's never experienced a single problem might be even higher than Dettol's success at killing bacteria.

Ditto, in my case it was a lot more, and PP admitted it was them, then basically said "tough - eff off"; it left me £600 over drawn and cost me another £75 in bank charges.
Never used PP since; if a website wont take a direct card payment, but insist on PP, I go buy somewhere else.

That's like saying you can't find customer complaints about banks and/or credit cards... thousands of them.
Paypal has close to a billion customers probably (although they do not actually allow customers from a lot of Eastern Europe countries, India and so on) so there will be a few not knowing what they are doing or trying to fraud the system who become unhappy.
Never heard of anyone having issues with Paypal. On the contrary, raving reviews.
With banks, on the other hand...

Actually just playing around on the note 2 which I bought a year ago, so a generation or two behind this one.
whenever I come back to this phone I'm blown away by the screen and the speed of the device. I use the Xiaomi.eu ROMs which are excellent.
The one aspect that lets this phone down, and seemingly the other Xiaomi handsets is the camera. I use the camera phone a lot with work and it doesn't perform well at all. I actually use my iPhone for day to day stuff as a result which is a real shame.
I'd definitely go for a device with B20 available. the note 2 doesn't have it and, despite using 3 mobile which apparently can do 4G on a different band, the reception i get on the note 2 is vastly inferior to that on the iPhone. it could be that the antenna is better in the iPhone but I can't help feeling it's related to the lack of B20. the iPhone for instance registers a strong 4G signal where I work whilst the note 2 has no service!
hope that ramble is helpful to someone. to confirm, no fish were harmed in the writing of this message :innocent:

I had the Xiaomi mi2 for 3 years, ( damaged the USB port, should of been a easy replacement for me but I messed up and damaged the solder pad.) screen never cracked in the 3 years I had it without a case/ screen protector) using a used Redmi note 2 now(bought for £48) dog got caught on the usb cable and cracked the screen, but it was only the touch screen and you can't see the crack when it use.( full screen replacement is £15) if I choose to replace.
I understand that some Chinese phone are rubbish build but Xiaomi are generally a better for quality than the price would suggest.
my Xiaomi piston 3 earphones are roughly the same quality sounding as the £40 Sony ones. only time will tell if they last 3 years like my last 2 pairs if Sony's do, but the build quality is there

If you search for "MIUI Equalizer crash" on Google, it appears to be a problem for quite a few different Xiaomi phones. Some threads suggest updating MIUI helped fix it for them. If you've already tried that, there might be other ideas on the various threads, for you to try.

This is one of the downsides of the Kate version.
Besides being impossible to unlock it, you also have less ROMs to chose from.
You can use the Kenzo ROMs with a lot of care and fuff, as the camera sensor seem to be different, the modem is certainly different and so on.
Also, with the Kate modem, you cannot see the band actually in use.
On Kenzo, there are some programs capable of showing that (especially on rooted phones).

Hi
I took the plunge and bought this phone 2 months ago to replace my aging Samsung Note 3 and I am very very happy with it. It compares very favourably with the Samsung Note 3. I am not a techy so needed the phone to be simple and work straight out the box and it did just that. I paid £150 and the best bit is that I sold my 3 yr old Samsung Note 3 on eBay for £175 !
The battery is very impressive and easily lasts 2 days but please note it does take 5 hrs to charge.
Hope this is useful feedback.

17 Nov 16#189
Chinese new year is always somewhere between end of Jan and end of Feb. Chinese new year 2017 is Jan 28th so it'll have no impact in delayed shipment. The stock will likely come from mainland China who don't have Christmas as a national holiday. If stock is delayed beyond 1-2 weeks it'll be due to other factors. If they dispatch in that time, the only factor for not receiving before Christmas would be related to the postal company.

I received mine today, packaging was good. Phone looks cool, but standard rom which updated to miui 8.1 and Android 6.0.1 doesn't have any option for UK or GB in the 'Locale' section.
One other thing the model of the phone on the 'About Phone' settings shows "Redmi Note 3" and not Redmi Note 3 Pro as I was hoping it'd say. Can anyone else who has this phone check theirs please and report back here on what it says?
Thanks in advance
dreadzone101
9 Dec 161#215
The locale not having UK seems to be normal for MIUI Global. There's a few who've mentioned it for other Xiaomi phones. Check the most recent comments on this Mi Max thread. Also this ask thread for Redmi 3S. It apparently doesn't matter what you select though.
As for the 'About Phone' not stating Pro, it is because the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon is not actually officially called the 'Pro' by Xiaomi. However this name was adopted by the sellers/buyers to help distinguish from the original Mediatek model. If you check the MIUI ROMs download page, you'll see that Redmi Note 3 is just one entry with the ROMs for Mediatek, Snapdragon and Special Edition falling under that entry. However for the likes of Redmi 3S, it mentions 'Prime' in the title as falling under that entry because the Redmi 3S Prime is officially the name of the higher model. Also for the likes of Mi Note, there is a separate entry for Mi Note Pro because that is another named model, whereas 'Kate', 'Kenzo' and Hennessy are all just called 'Redmi Note 3' so it won't say 'Pro' in anyone elses either.
Cavity
9 Dec 16#216
Thanks, that's good info. Am I right in thinking I can get the cases for any one of the three to fit the Pro?
dreadzone101
9 Dec 161#217
The 'Pro Special Edition' (Kate) in this deal is actually about 2mm longer than the other 2 variations so if you buy a case for the Redmi Note 3, it'll likely be sized for 'Kenzo' and 'Hennessy' and will either be a little too short, or it'll be a tight fit. However there's a few available to buy but you'd probably have to find one that specifically mentions it's for the Special Edition or find one that isn't a hard material. A few in this deal thread are for this model. If you get one that's a gel type case it may fit all 3. This Redmi Note 3 Gearbest case for example has some people asking about Special Edition in Q&A section, one answer said it fits but is a little tight.

Finding a decent case is tough for this phone, the last link even says not for the international edition as this one is.

I never bought this phone but if you're concerned, it would be easy to obtain a UK plug. Having a look at unboxing videos, the plug is rated 5V 2A, which is very common and you may already have other USB chargers that are rated the same. If not, you can find lots from various UK sellers. I have an older Xiaomi and never used the supplied plug since the charger for my tablet and previous phone were the same rating. Here's a UK plug from eBay.

If anyone's after one of these before Christmas I'm selling one (silver 3GB / 32GB model).
It's in fantastic condition and there's not a scratch on it.
Boxed with all original packaging.
Comes with gel case (although a bit tight fitting as it's for the non-global version of the phone).
Tempered glass screen protector fitted (slightly short as it's for the non-global version of the phone).
Please note the following:
- buttons at the bottom (Menu, Home, Back) don't light up for some reason, but you can see the outline and they work absolutely fine
- when using my wired handsfee kit it didn't detect the microphone for some reason (the microphone on the handset itself remained active). A microphone on a bluetooth handsfree kit DID work as expected.
Great phone but as I use the wired hands free all the time I bought another of the same phone!
Cost me just over £150 a couple of months ago, selling for £120 (sorry no offers)
Can be collected from London E4, or from near Cancery Lane in Central London during Tues 20th.

Something like that happened to me on MIUI but it was after I changed the USB connection to 'charge only' and then lost the ability to mount USB storage. Installing "MIUI USB settings" from Play store fixed it. Try that to see if it works for you.

I sorted my music file transfer problem working fine now. Another problem, I received my new plusnet Sim today calls and texts working fine but Data not working I got APN settings from plusnet basically there same as EE network but still no data, plus net said there is known connection issues for my postcode, plus net going to send me another Sim! Anyone know if the ID mobile 4g using three network would be any better with this redemi phone? Thanks
The last thread link stated their problem ended up being due to a faulty sim so if your replacement sim doesn't fix it, then the problem is elsewhere.
As for whether ID mobile 4G is better, depends on your area. Order Three's free 200MB sim to see what your coverage is like. I reckon it should be fine though. I get 4G Three perfectly fine even on a non B20 Redmi phone.

Has anyone had a auto firmware update today or in last few days? mine did update today and now its been auto factory reset what a pain in the butt, it stated just before or during update that everything would be backed up to google cloud or something but im unsure if that actually happened as i was out n about with no strong internet/data at the time of update!! anyone know if there is a way to recover what i had b4 update, as everything has been wiped now!!!

There seems to be a problem with the latest update on the Redmi Note 3 SE: http://en.miui.com/thread-541130-1-1.html
Appears to have happened to a few on that thread.

Best region to set the device to?
dreadzone101
16 Mar 171#247
I don't think it really makes much difference whatever it's set as. UK isn't included in "Locale" during initial set up, but recently MIUI Global updates has changed "Locale" to "Region" and UK is an option for it: http://en.miui.com/thread-439389-1-1.html

is there a way i can get the notifications to actually display in the notification bar at the top? right now they arent :/ i have to pull down to see them

Settings > Notifications & Status Bar > Show notification icons (toggle it to active)
Menu path might differ slightly depending on MIUI version but it should be there somewhere.

thanks i was being an idiot. i'd read somewhere the contacts & call uses the same app so I kept looking for the option in call.
sorry for all the questions lol.
also wondering if there is a way to make the icons/text on the notification bar bigger? they are quite small in comparison to the size of the screen.
enjoying the device though. wish more people would give imports a try
dreadzone101
18 Mar 17#253
No size customisation for the notification bar but you can change the size of the notifications themselves (in pull down menu) by going to Settings > Display > Text Size.
Themes can change the notification bar icons (battery, wifi and mobile signal etc). Some imitate the look of stock Android or iOS and might be more visible than others. You can change it without applying an entire theme. Go to Themes app, profile symbol (top left) then "Customize theme". It's the "Status bar" one.

whats the thoughts on these phones from anyone that has one of these?

18 Mar 171#255
i just received the one of these I bought & honestly i'm impressed! more people need to consider importing devices. the build quality is good, design is nice with a premium feeling. it's fast & smooth. for the price i think you'd struggle to find anything better tbh. possible a used honor 7 on ebay but it scores substantially lower on antutu
Custom launcher icons will be separate from MIUI system. The icons you see for notifications and in recent apps panel will still be the MIUI theme icons. If you search for 'pixel' in theme app you can download and apply icons so your notifications blend in better with your launcher icons.

19 Mar 17#258
Think I'm using the pixel MIUI theme
Also was wondering why some settings reset on system reboot eg I have to reactive fb messenger chat heads whenever I reboot the phone. There are other too like date and time needs changed to use network default instead of selected local again Everytime I reboot the phone. Is this normal? It's a hit of a pain having to go through and adjust all the settings every time the phone gets rebooted
dreadzone101
19 Mar 17#259
First time I've heard of that happening and I've never encountered those issues, but after searching forums, the time reset bug does appear to be common for quite a while: http://en.miui.com/thread-357961-1-1.html
There doesn't appear to be a fix though except one person mentioning a root tweak.

OTA updates. Comes with MIUI 7 but can be updated to MIUI 8. Flashing own Global ROM is recommended though
Shipping from HK so potential import duty.
'Kate' model is about 2.5mm taller than standard Note 3 Pro 'Kenzo' model

It will work right out of the box. It has Global ROM which means it'll include play store etc and it has OTA updates which means you don't need to plug it into computer to update. It also has expandable storage. Chinese phones aren't for everyone and there may be similar alternatives from UK retailers but being a user of an older Xiaomi model, I'd recommend them.

But saying that though, the Gold one is heap's cheaper there too. :-)
Yeah, this was one of the phones I mentioned. I don't think it's a rival to Galaxy Note 4 though but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, this would definitely be more comparable than the Redmi 4A
Flash it with nexus stock rom
i am currently using Redmi Note 3 Pro and coming from Samsung Note 3 it seems like a huge upgrade. cant fault the performance and battery is way better than Samsung.
Kate and Kenzo have they been a bit naughty ?
oh no Hennessy has found out
I assume this is processors you lot are on about ?
Also how does this compare to the oukitel u15 which is 3gb ram at just under 90?
Kenzo is bisexual and was in a gay relationship with Hennessy but ran off with Kate because Hennessy was a drunkard. Hennessy is getting drunk on himself.
It's basically different versions. Kenzo and Kate are both Redmi Note 3 Pro whereas Hennessy is alcohol... I mean... Redmi Note 3 (original). Whilst the processor did change between standard and Pro, it's not always the case since Kate is just Kenzo with 800mhz 4G frequency supported. List of various Xiaomi code names.
Remember you'll more then likely pay import duty and VAT if you use fast delivery method.
This video convinced me to buy it (uses the 2GB version, henessey - Chinese one and not Qualcomm processor) :

Kenzo version is "3+32GB"?
Also, since they are slightly different sizes, does anyone
know where I can buy a case for the Kate version?

Dreadzone101 you certainly know your phones, great info sir.

How much people is willing to pay for this in the UK? Potentially I can bulk order from Taiwan and ship over to UK using local connection. But just want to get a sense of interest now.
If it comes with the global ROM already, why do we need to flash something else?
Basically some retailers will install their own custom version of the ROM known as a 'vendor ROM' and whilst it may be the Global ROM with Google Play etc, it could* potentially include other crapware/adware. Try searching for 'Xiaomi vendor ROM' and you'll find quite a few forum threads about it.
Not sure about actual delivery time but might be a while till dispatch. If you read the most recent comments on this thread it appears they take ages to dispatch but I'd definitely expect it to arrive in time for Christmas! I'd say early December at the latest although I've never ordered from them.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write your helpful post.
When you say
"The 3S Prime is technically better since it has 3/32GB"
With the "3S Prime" being 430 cpu v "4 Prime" 625 cpu same memory surey the 4 Prime is compelling for 5"?
Yes I wish the 4 Prime was available on universal ROM 4 weeks ago looks like a great phone for the 5" form factor.
I thinks I'll dive in in the thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/xiaomi-redmi-4-pro-5-0inch-fhd-2-5d-screen-miui-8-4g-lte-smartphone-qualcomm-snapdragon-2545103 and advise against purchasing until global ROM available.
Thanks
ps
Xiaomi need a few stores dotted around the UK
P.S. This is the 1st deal I've posted since last year so I don't think there's much use following me on here :stuck_out_tongue:
Thx but if u have a look on my links u will found that those covers and protectors are directly for Kate

One has to overlook the small issues
Or get an iphone7
Do you have this particular model though? Most ROMs are made for the original Note 3 Pro - Kenzo. This deal is for the Special Edition - 'Kate'. There's conflicting comments online. Some say 'Kenzo' ROMs work fine on 'Kate'. Some say they'll brick the device. Others say it'll work but the antenna/modem will stop unless you flash an additional fix.
Nexus Experience ROM 10.4 for Redmi Note 3 SD/SE
THIS ROM IS FOR KENZO AND KATE DEVICES!
Please link me if you do.
they are more or less the same, apart from goodix fingerprint reader i think
My opinion, not rev6.
The Elephone S7 looks good but more expensive.
To answer some comments, the original Note 3 had a Mediatek X10 core CPU, the new version has a Qualcom X6 core Snapdragon 650
Look at the tests here X10 v X6 and others
It's possible neither of them will get Nougat. Not sure if you saw my reply to the person replying to your Android N question on the Mi Max thread a few days ago.
No problem. I have a feeling the updater app method is only if you wanted to change within the same type. e.g from Global stable to Global developer. However China to Global isn't the same and needs flashed via recovery which requires unlocked bootloader. Not 100% certain though since I've been on Global since the start.
Moto g4 currently around £160 but I'm expecting a deal on black Friday...
My wife has an LG G4 running CM13 which has quick charge on a standard charger
Thing is i hardly need to charge it to be honest, i am not a big phone person so i charge it every 2-3 days
My son also has this phone, he is a heavy user and usually has around 15% say at 10pm
In fact, since every seller will also be present on other sites like Gearbest, that do allow Paypal, they will make sure they ship those orders first, to keep buyers happy.
But Aliexpress prices are maybe 5 pounds cheaper, so people go for that, even though they lose out on Paypal protection.
Trust is what they sell basically.
Credit cards are good, but I don't own one. Also some sellers charge more when using a credit card.
Also I picked up a honor 7 few months ago for 140 so not much more and same ish spec and from UK retailer (though I did buy it pre owned)
whenever I come back to this phone I'm blown away by the screen and the speed of the device.
I understand that some Chinese phone are rubbish build but Xiaomi are generally a better for quality than the price would suggest.
my Xiaomi piston 3 earphones are roughly the same quality sounding as the £40 Sony ones. only time will tell if they last 3 years like my last 2 pairs if Sony's do, but the build quality is there
Besides being impossible to unlock it, you also have less ROMs to chose from.
Hope this is useful feedback.
oh one final thing I used Ali express and as per usual very happy with the service and communication.
I bought this phone (global version), my first ever Chinese phone and I assure you it works straight out the box. popped the sim in and I was up and running in 10mins. I don't understand any of the tech stuff on these threads and I am no tech geek so buy with confidence. it is no difference from buying a Samsung in any UK outlet. hope this reassure you pal.
I had a note from the post office when I got home and had to go to the sorting office as slightly too big for letter box.
I used Ali express and credit card. no issues.
Has anyone who ordered when this deal was posted had their's shipped yet?
"We are sorry to inform you that the item 371104 is extremely popular, we just need to get them from the factory.
We can't confirm the available time, would you mind changing to the other products that you want?"
I'll go and bother the phone case/cover folks that set up in big shopping centres - not actual shops, but racks in the middle of the wide walkways - like popup stalls. Cardiff seems to have an abundance of them, but I'm not going anywhere near town on International day.
Ideally I want a larger screen than my iPhone 6, 5.5 or 6 would be good, with decent onboard memory with card slot too (or the capacity to send apps to run off an sd card), decent speaker just for voice more than anything, 1080p front video if possible, and android... hence looking at this and the lenovo.

One other thing the model of the phone on the 'About Phone' settings shows "Redmi Note 3" and not Redmi Note 3 Pro as I was hoping it'd say. Can anyone else who has this phone check theirs please and report back here on what it says?
Thanks in advance

I received my phone two days after, that was this morning, normal local postie, I didn't have to sign for it.
Approximately fourteen days from shipping date until delivery! BTW I live north of Watford ie Merseyside if that's any indicator of geographical delivery estimates!
Or I can post for an extra £7 (after receiving the funds)

The last thread link stated their problem ended up being due to a faulty sim so if your replacement sim doesn't fix it, then the problem is elsewhere.
As for whether ID mobile 4G is better, depends on your area. Order Three's free 200MB sim to see what your coverage is like. I reckon it should be fine though. I get 4G Three perfectly fine even on a non B20 Redmi phone.

Appears to have happened to a few on that thread.
is there a way i can get the notifications to actually display in the notification bar at the top? right now they arent :/ i have to pull down to see them
Menu path might differ slightly depending on MIUI version but it should be there somewhere.
sorry for all the questions lol.
also wondering if there is a way to make the icons/text on the notification bar bigger? they are quite small in comparison to the size of the screen.
enjoying the device though. wish more people would give imports a try
Themes can change the notification bar icons (battery, wifi and mobile signal etc). Some imitate the look of stock Android or iOS and might be more visible than others. You can change it without applying an entire theme. Go to Themes app, profile symbol (top left) then "Customize theme". It's the "Status bar" one.
i'm running arrow launcher with pixel icon pack
Also was wondering why some settings reset on system reboot eg I have to reactive fb messenger chat heads whenever I reboot the phone. There are other too like date and time needs changed to use network default instead of selected local again Everytime I reboot the phone. Is this normal? It's a hit of a pain having to go through and adjust all the settings every time the phone gets rebooted

There doesn't appear to be a fix though except one person mentioning a root tweak.
