Why do you feel the constant need to criticise every single phone that gets posted on here which lacks band20. You're in every thread with these comments! Lack of one 4G frequency does not mean it has "no UK bands", nor does it mean it's a tablet, nor does it mean it only works it India or China. We get it, you don't like phones that lack b20, but even if it's a phone that supports it, you switch to complaining about retailer, lack of warranty, dodgey software etc. Pretty much just constant criticism.
People use these phones perfectly fine in the UK but that doesn't matter since your opinion appears to negate that fact. You posted this deal in which you say that phones like One Plus 3 waste battery power because they support TDD LTE bands, which is hilarious. Not only does that make no sense, but also the Asus phone which you're defending supports twice as many TDD LTE bands as the One Plus 3 does. The same 4 TDD LTE bands supported by this Xiaomi Phone. Not everyone uses a network that uses only 800mhz for 4G. Some people don't even use 4G at all but that doesn't seem to be taken into consideration since apparently lack of a frequency some people mightn't even need equates to "no UK bands".

China post is the best bet for missing the guys at HMRC. If you use any carrier (DHL ect), they will change you both the tax and a fee of up to £12 for doing it.
Post takes a while, but the seller will usually list the phone as 'MP3 player. $18' so unless they open it at the port of entry (highly unlikely) you're home free. . .

Officially from Xiaomi, slight. Unofficially as a custom rom, very high. The guys at XDA will produce one if the hardware can support it, and I can't see why it wouldn't.

For Cyanogenmod, based on an Android version would mean it is that particular Android version but it doesn't mean the same for MIUI version. MIUI 7 is based on Lollipop and MIUI 8 is based on Marshmallow but phones using MIUI 7 or 8 will still be on either KitKat, Lollipop or Marshmallow. Very few Xiaomi phones have got an Android version update officially from Xiaomi. I think Redmi Note 3 Pro and Mi Note Pro are the only ones released with Lollipop but later got Marshmallow. Many others like the original Redmi Note 3, still remain Lollipop regardless of MIUI 8 updates. Mi Max getting MIUI 9 probably won't mean a Marshmallow to Nougat update. Xiaomi tend to release new models very often so chances are in future they'll release an updated Mi Max model with Nougat, instead.
badboyofrock
11 Nov 16#37
My Mi4 got updated from KK to MM with Miui 7.5.
dreadzone101
11 Nov 16#39
I was referring to phones released with Lollipop in particular, for my comment to suggest the likelihood MM devices going to Nougat. I think the original Mi Note was also KK and got MM too. Mi3 also went from JB to MM, but the Mi4s, Mi4c and Mi4i are still Lollipop like most of the Lollipop phones. Redmi 3S wasn't much of an upgrade to 3 Pro but it was released with MM whereas 3 Pro which was about 4 months older is stuck with Lollipop when a 3 year older Mi3 gets MM. Not ruling out a Nougat update entirely. Was just saying I don't think it's very likely.
