Been looking out for an Xbox One deal, and this seems to be the best so far. Just appeared on the Game website.
Xbox One S "deep blue" with Battlefield One and Star Wars Battlefront.
Everywhere else seems to be selling it at £249 without Star Wards Battlefront.

Not worried about getting an Xbox One S specifically, would you rate the Xbox Elite over the S?

Doubt many xbox one s deals will be around, id bank on the older models selling cheaper maybe 149 or 129

Don't know about that dude's opinion but I'd say so. Xbox One Elite comes with the premium high-end Xbox One Elite controller and 1TB SSD so comparing the Xbox One S to the Xbox One Elite, the XOE is the way to go.
I've seen the Xbox One and Xbox One S in real life side by side and honestly, the difference isn't really that much. Plus, if you shove it down the TV or somewhere you don't see then it doesn't matter the size of it anyway.

That of course, if you'll use it only for gaming and don't care about 4K Blu-ray or HDR (most people don't know what HDR is anyway).

I've reserved an elite from argos. Thought long an hard. I'm no expert but from what I've read if you want 4k then Scorpio or whatever it's called will be true 4k. yes s is smaller and power brick built in but elite has quick boot up along with the controller everyone raves about and 1tb.

They probably use a code like so:
XboxColourRGB = RANDOM() and there you have it :stuck_out_tongue:
(Yes half of its probably wrong  )

S is half the size of the phat and no bulky power pack.
Ps4 slim is even smaller though.

In numbers it makes it seem like the S model is a lot smaller but it didn't look like that to me with the two put together. It's just.. a console, after all.
I still use my PS3 60GB so consoles' fatness isn't something that bothers me.

Space and power pack isn't a concern, I have a "Boys Room" with plenty of space for it, so in that case I might go for an Elite then. Cheers.
I'm just considering X-Box vs PS4...
Which one is better..? LOL

Don't knkw much about ps4 but..
xbox gives you backward compability so you can play most of the xbox 360 games + with gold subscription you getting 48 free games per 12months (2x for XO and 2x for x360 playable on XO every month). And this is not only my opinion but controller is one of the best on the gaming market. Also free skype calls and digital games bought in microsoft store can be used on the pc and xbox after single purchase. In addition you can share your gold subscription and digitally downloaded games with your friend..
Your choice obviously but imo there is nothing to think about really
Just sold my 500gb XO and picked up my elite 1tb console that I bough in tesco for 179quid. Couldn't be more happy.
Didn't get the xbox one s due to not having 4k or hdr telly so I don't care about it anyway + I've heard some roumors about ratteling, clicking noise coming from the new XOs fan. Faulty bearings or whatever. XO Elite is whisper quiet. You have great chance to pick up one for 199 now!

Ask yourself three questions:
1) Which exclusive games are more important to you? (Forza/Gears/Halo on Xbox vs Uncharted/God of War/Gran Turismo on PS)
2) Did you own a PS3 or Xbox 360?
3) If you play online, which console does most of your friends own?

Just for clarity, it's not a 1TB "SSD", it's actually an SSHD.

I've just taken deliver of the X Box Elite (Currys £189 deal) and it looks/feels like a really solid well built unit (proper chrome effect trim, not plastic tack). Also the controller looks awesome. I was looking for the One S but the advantages of the 1Tb SSD and the controller made the Elite an easy decision for me.

Black Friday is overhyped in U.K.,it's probably better in America but here the maximum is like £10 off

This is a long shot, but if anyone buys this and fancies selling the controller for £75, please let me know.

Xbox one s in terms of cost is a better option due to having a 4k blu ray player which alone would cost you £300-600.....plus has the new Bluetooth controllers with grip a lot better find smaller no massive power brick! And slightly faster with HDR which all decent new TVs will start to have from now on...so i don't know both decent but one s tops it for me plus not a fan of elite controller ended up swapping config 24/7 never could make my mind up lol! Ps have had both console and controller types so not talking completely out of my behind  cheers

Ps just picked up a xbox one s white 500gb with Fifa 17 + extra one controller + infinite warfare for £267.49 then sold infinite warfare to cex for £36 cash... so payed £231.49 for Fifa bundle with second controller not bad in my books!

After owning 5, yes 5!, of these consoles I'd suggest waiting until they release newer batches. Lots of fan issues with these consoles. Elite is still on sale for 199 at Argos (ended up getting that). It's luck of the drawer but 4 of the consoles I had were replacements straight from Microsoft. Yea the older models are bigger but they're cheaper and better value right now
