Can it be used on a PC?

Nope, which is a massive shame, wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft had an agreement with Hauppauge (etc) to not create any drivers as it would have killed the regular PC tuner pricing.

Definitely HD as well. Good quality but really needs the remote as fumbling around the UI with the controller can become tedious.

Does this need to plug into a TV aerial? Haven't got one in my room so ideal if it's just standalone?

Needs aerial to work, but works fine for me with a portable one. Depends on your areas reception though to if you need a roof one.

If you need tv over the internet then a £9.99 NowTV box sideloaded with TvPlayer solves the no aerial problem
Can't see the point, I have freesat (this doesn't work with freesat) that is also a PVR. My TV also has freeview built in with an epg already. This would need an additional splitter just so i could watch TV on my actual set without having to unplug the aerial everytime I want to watch it through the Xbox!
Seems a bit of a faff! The only benefit send to be watching TV without having to press the AV source button on my remote... Woo!
Will probably get on at some point anyway because reasons

Have you ever thought most people don't have Freesat or PVR though? Maybe. You can pick up a splitter for pennies as well, but why bother when an Xbox One is a hub for everything, it's no different to having a Youview or Freesat box running really.

It adds a HD freeview tuner to your Microsoft of iOS based devices that can run smartglass on your home network.

how do you connect this to the Xbox tv tuner? I thought the now tv boxes only had a HDMI out not a coaxial out.

Sorry I didn't make myself that clear! I was just suggesting a totally stand alone option not associated with this xbox one tuner. For anyone needing IPTV the NowTV box with its catchup tv apps (some with live streaming) plus the sideloaded TVPlayer app is a very good and cheap solution when you do not have an aerial available.
Edit: You could take the HDMI out of the NowTV box and feed it into an Xbox One on reflection

Oh that makes sense. I set up a now tv box for my mum in her spare room for the same reason (no aerial). Still not selling me on the Xbox tuner! My TV already does freeview hd and on demand...

I found it was not as strong as my panasonics tuner, much more dropping out. Probably need a strong signal.

I saw a conversation on here recently about how the Xbox tv tuner used DVB-c and it will receive freeview channels from a virgin media line. I can not seem to find the conversation now and I can not get mine working on a virgin line at all. Anyone know anything about it?

Flipping heck, I remember looking into this when I first got my now TV and again when I upgraded to roku 3 and couldn't find anything which would stream live TV over tinterweb. I've got 3 boxes being used as Plex-casts, time to upgrade! Thanks Godspeed! Now I just need to remember the side load button sequence...
