Seriously. I've said it before, but the way these are dropping, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it on December's Games with Gold.
Great price. Heat applied.

It's a new feature for GWG, they send you a physical item, this months is a free battery cover, my guess is it'll be this for December

It's a shame Microsoft didn't make / release Windows drivers for this otherwise I'd buy a few of them. Some people are working on it for Linux but early stages.

Do you have Virgin coax input? DVB-C should work on it fine for SD BBC1, 2, ITV, etc

I've only got virgin TiVo box there's no coaxial on that I don't think. Can't get to the back of mine.

Just need a splitter for the incoming coax before it goes into TiVo.
Is it really that simple to do? Didn't even think of that tbh doh!

19 Nov 16#24
It's simple, just check first to see if you have a 2 way or 4 way splitter installed. I'm guessing if you have just 1x tivo and superhub they will have put in a 2 way. Replace the 2 way with the 4 way I linked above.
And put it back as it was if you ever invite a Virgin engineer in your house

Yeah definitely go a two way splitter. Virgin Just recently replaced as it was corroded.

No prob. You won't get many channels to watch though, I think the last time I checked with my DVB-C tuner it was about 6 or 7 plus radio

Immensely cheap, heated. I thought it was good at £9.99 as it was on base recently, admittedly that had the box but who cares it's just cardboard. Will probably be £5 by Black Friday at this rate then given away in a cereal box by January I should think. Microsoft dumping it is certainly helping get it down cheap and ironically boosting adoption. I'd rather it had kept support (and received the PVR update) even if it kept the price up a bit but I guess at £8 you can't deny the value....

Maybe a good indoor antenna will work
ST3123 to Hassann
19 Nov 16#36
It's just like any other freeview tuner. If you can feed it a sufficiently clear and strong signal it will give you the freeview channels. If you are close to the transmitter a indoor aerial has a decent chance of working but if you are in a less than great reception area it probably won't be enough. Probably worth borrowing one or getting a £5 cheapie to avoid wasting money on a expensive one. If it's going to work at all a basic cheap loop style aerial will at least get you some of the channels, if there is no signal whatsoever picked up then a dearer amplified one wouldn't help as it would just be boosting garbage....

This would only be of any use to me if I could record shows on it, I have virgin but occasionally it'd be handy to have an additional way of recording a channel when there's conflicts, & my smart tv doesn't record.
Does this do that? Google is full of conflicting information, saying it doesn't have dvr capabilities & other articles back last year saying it will do soon, yet nothing confirming it either way.

I have a few questions if anyone would be so kind?
- can you get Freeview HD channels with this?
- Can I use it on a Ubuntu rig or does this have to be used with a Xbox One?
- Would it work with Android boxes for Kodi?

If you need to split the Virgin incoming coax so you can watch tv on another device (like your Tivo, superhub, etc) this works fine:

edit: I think this does get Freeview HD if it's the same one as in this review:

if you missed out, you can get it from Amazon direct for £11.80
