With the price drops on this, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on GwG next month!

Amazing price for this. I ordered it last week when it was £11.50 and thought that was cheap. Think it's just gone into freefall lately thanks to Microsoft effectively dumping it. Personally, I would have rather had it get the useful PVR and support for using two (+) of them to build a really powerful PVR, even at the expense of the tuner holding it's price a bit but I guess it's a dirt cheap way to pause live TV and get PIP TV while you game so not bad at all, just still seems a missed opportunity that they never fully developed it to me....

Can this only be used on an Xbox, or can it also be used on a PC, with Windows media software?

I got one last week for this price. It's neat and a good price. Any one else notice a motion blur? Almost makes me motion sick watching tv through the xbox. It's especially noticeable watching sport or any channel with a ticker bar (BBC News for example). I hope I'm doing something wrong.

I know early on there was problems with the 60Hz default of the console conflicting with the 50Hz UK TV standard. Could be there is some setting you need to change?

it is good however it should come with an Ariel splitter as you need to turn your Xbox on to watch the tv . not everyone in my family wants to do this so its now unused as I can't be arsed changing the Ariel over constantly
heat for deal tho

A passthrough would be nice and is standard on most set top boxes and pvrs, though I think this is meant to be more like add on like a TV tuner card or usb stick is on PC, neither of which include any aerial splitter or passthrough. Either way it seems a bit silly not to use it just because it doesn't have a splitter that you could easily buy for about a quid!

Have you tried Daz?
An Aerial splitter might work too....

Does this work with the new Xbox one s does anyone know?

Should do as it just plugs into a USB port.

Yes, absolutely. Its just a standard usb connection to the console and as the original xbox one and one s are almost identical under the hood it will be completely compatible. The only thing i know of that works on xbox one but not one s is kinect and even that has a separate adaptor.

Is this like the old play tv on ps3, allowing you to record live TV and does it work on the new s models?

Very cheap, but what's the point of these?

3 Nov 16#26
It you look at the xbox site they don't even mention this, they want you to buy a Hauppauge model! So, although the Microsoft one is obviously being discontinued, there's still (a little) hope of new functionality in the future, PVR etc.

I'm glad I read a little before buying. I assumed (obviously) that you could record tv with this. You can't.
Makes it utterly pointless in my eyes. Does anyone actually watch live TV these days??? I can't remember the last time I did, must have been many years back. Very bizarre move of M$.

Do people actually record TV programmes these days rather than just use on-demand (iplayer etc.)? Very quaint. ;-)
Wasn't this due to rights issues etc, feature was in but MS had to remove.

Heat, brilliant price. Almost bought despite barely having turned on my Xbox. I am learning after buying the Xbox on impulse here too lol.

Nope, just use the Sky app; if it doesn't work try the Sky forums for help.

i get that yes, have tried to buy them a few times and end up not being able to finish the connection as I've bought the wrong bloody part . Point being, I don't have a sky box or anything, just a smart TV, and I paid £25ish for this a couple of years ago and I just think it could have come with a splitter in it. As you said for only a pound more I would have been happy to pay if it was included in the box as well. Microsoft short sighted yet again in thinking everyone has a sky or virgin box

More seriously I believe you can pause and rewind up to half-hour so yes it is short of a proper PVR/recording function.
