i was the same as you - but i have 3 boys all with an xbox one on there list - after much reasearch i decided to wait no longer and all 3 have the xbox one elite for christmas - at this price it means they can have an extra game :-)

I too have three boys and we're thinking of upgrading their 360's. Will be watching out for the elite by the sounds off it

The 's' model is hot now for sure. But it wont be in a years time when the Scorpio comes out. If you want a console to fill the gap then these deals seem the best to me. As the thing that will carry over is the games and that is what matters. If you plan to keep the console for 3 or 4 years to come then maybe the 's' is the best option

are these physical copies of the game you get or digital downloads?

I don't have a PC, so might go for one. Prefer the sound of the S, but the original is tempting. Cheers!

Does anyone know which courier Microsoft ships through with the free delivery option?

So there are clear benefits then? Like if you play during daylight, or in a well lit room? Or if you don't have any digital subscriptions? And don't have a smart TV (also not ALL smart TVs can stream 4k natively! Where did you get that from?!). I'm someone who all of these points apply to (except I do have a NAS and do stream from there using Plex) You kinda poked a lot of holes in your own argument there!

For an even balance of anecdotal nonsense, I got fairly significant Quidco cashbacks from Microsoft, with no hassle, on both a Dell laptop and an Xbox One in the past year.

The Elite bundle is pretty good for the price as it also has 1TB hybrid drive and an Elite controller

I am no doubt one of many on here looking to upgrade my Sons 360 this Christmas. His preference is the One S (not surprisingly!) but there seems to be a clear channel shift on the legacy X Box one's, which makes me wonder whether its worth holding out for further price reductions. Or, more likely is this a simple case of retailers clearing their stocks in preparation for the impending X Box One S Christmas push?

Both Sony and Microsoft is on a price war with stock clearance. Its highly unlikely you get any cheaper(i think price will go back up after chrismas). although i think its much better to get the newer model xbox one s for £230 with a game like BF1 which woth £40 on it own. or similar X1S bundle deal.
Depend if you have a gaming pc, if you do then no.

Can any PS4/Xbox One owners suggest whether an Xbox One is worth owning as well as a PS4?
Gears, Forza 3 and Halo spring to mind as well as the backwards compatibility.
Thank you.

I dont really understand the hype around Xbox one s when that machine is purely a cosmetic expansion, its smaller (cosmetic), it can upscale to 4k and has hdr (draw distance and colours are more accurate, but in a dark room it's not going to matter), 4k blu ray player (most, if not everyone should be using digital content to stream movies from a NAS or your home server and all smart TVs can stream native 4k).
The best deal here, was the Xbox one elite for 179, but Argos are selling the elite and an extra controller at a good price, something I would recommend. SSHD internally is better than any external storage device

15 quid cashback on Quidco too.

Don't count on cashback from M$. They denied I even bought a bundle from them when I chased £35 2 yrs ago. Their own invoices/delivery notes and Paypal statement wasn't enough proof!

At these sort of prices why not?

It's a very good price but is not better to buy one s for around 220?
