No benefit at all. Just thought I should mention it as I asked earlier in this thread about buying on the console and someone mentioned there is a limit of how many times you can switch region.
You probably just changed the Xbox website at the bottom to Russia so basically what I did was do the same but on the console. Just letting people know you can do that as much as you want as some people say there's a limit but that's when you go to account.microsoft.com and change your region there.

Sorry I'm not being rude, but what is the benefit of changing the region of your account? I was able to purchase and download the games from the Russian store without doing this. Just wondering if I have missed a trick somewhere?

Bought this last night. Bought 2x 2000P cards. My account can't purchase using Xbox.com and the support don't know either so I'm limited to the console. Changed console location in the settings to Russia and restarted the console. You can now leave the language as English so no translations needed. Found the bundle on the store, press purchase and then you can redeem your codes in there. Once you've redeemed your codes you can then select your Microsoft Balance and purchase! All good and worked perfectly! Also confirmed with Xbox Support that you can change the location on your console as many times as you want but changing the location on your account is limited.

That's what I bought. Seemed the easiest and safest method. Anyone know what I can get for my leftover rubles
I left it to today and the price went up in Russia even though sales is going on until tonight. Weird to change the sales price during the sales. I haven't seen that before. Bummer!

For some reason HUKD is moderating my posts and now the latest one, with what I had to do to get it working, has vanished! :disappointed:
Long story short, I had to add a Russian address in order to add my second 2000RU gift card. After that, the purchase seems to have been processed.
I now need to check to see if it's downloading...

Guys, just read the link I posted. No VPNs no dramas. You need to set up a billing method for any region you use... Albeit it'll never be used (because you'll use credit) so it can be entered as complete gibberish. However the format has to be correct, so if they have 5 digit post codes, it needs to be 12345 for example.
Use the Google link inside my link above to find the Russian Google HQ (or a Hilton, or an Embassy etc etc)

I bought one 2000RU card from SEA to test the water and went through the purchase process on the Russian xbox site. It got to the payment part and I was given the option to enter a code. I did. But as it wasn't for the full amount it didn't complete.
I got a little lost at this point, as I don't read Russian!
I installed Chrome and have, thankfully, confirmed the 2000RU is indeed in my account.
However, when I try to add the second 2000RU which I've just bought, I can't, as it now asks me for an address. And when I try to add the second code in my MS account page it says it can only be used in the region for which it was purchased.
I'm using a VPN set to Russia, too. :disappointed:
Edit: I found this and after a messy combination of automatic translation and copy/paste, I managed to navigate the pages, add an address, add the second gift card code and make the purchase.
I'm now going to check my console to see if it's downloading...
Pity I'm in work all day tomorrow and won't be able to play either of the games.

Get a mate to buy the credit then add the credit to your account on the website? Then buy on the console? I try to avoid this method because I believe you can only change the region on your xbox a certain amount of times per year?
Or game share with a mate and you become the slave account, so you never have to conduct purchasing.
