Bought 12 mth gold as Xmas gift, so can't activate it immediately as on partners Xbox account and he'll know about his present. Amazon have said it will be ok to activate at Xmas. Is this true as worried some people having issues activating.

Thanks Babbler, I also thought the same. I eventually got round to buying this morning. If it was a physical code, I'd have let the trial run out but because it's via email (and considering the problems people have been having getting codes to work), I applied it straight away. Code worked, but seems to have wiped out the trial period?

Rather than just 'use code', would it have made any difference if I went to EXTEND out of interest?

Or have I been done ....

Thanks! Perfect timing as my gold runs out in few days. Got it for £22.49 though could only choose the option without bonus Fifa17/GoW download or was £24.99. Don't play either anyway and they are going for a couple quid on eBay so no a great loss!! <3 Easy to Activate also just clicked though amazon and signed into my xbox account and all sorted. Guess if you wanted to sell on youd have to skip the automatic xbox activation and not login when asked!

The gnasher skin of gears 4 is rubbish lol.
It's just the same as a plain gun but with some difficult to see gears logo on it. It's obscured by shotgun shells mounted on the side of the weapon..

Yes as this works out to just about £2 a month. If you are set up to automatically pay monthly with Microsoft then just cancel that, the current month will probably still be valid then just apply the code you get with this 12 month deal and your sorted.

I can't remember if once you apply this 12 month if you are auto subscribed again to the auto renewal after the 12 months is up. You will have to check you account and make sure to disable that so 12 months later you aren't automatically charged £39.99 for the next 12 months.

12 months later you can will probably be able to pick up another card like this in next years Black Friday sales as well anyway. :smile:

Yeah especially December's games with gold. Sleeping Dogs is by no means a poor game. I put a couple of days into that. Burnout Paradise will not be seen for less than £12 after it is no longer free. If you're buying an xbox in 2 months time then you will have some decent games to play from the off. Just make sure you "buy" them for 0.00p and then you can download them in 6 months if you want

I don't think you can stack anymore like the good old days. The code will no doubt be valid but have a Google about stacking codes as I'm pretty sure they changed the rules and you may lose a code.

not sure about the gold codes but some (maybe all) credit has expiration as the £45 plus £5 free credit (which expires in January) deal on Amazon demonstrates, but if your going to get an Xbox anyway might as well make account online and redeem codes to go gold and claim the "free" gwg. this way for the few pounds a month it works out to be you will get 4 games per month before your Xbox purchase. Games cost more than the monthly breakdown so why not build up your library for your console. could even buy some of the games on sale if you think they won't reduce any further for when you get the condole.

For people who had an error message, I had one too. My Gold was due to expire on 1/12/2016 however, on my subscriptions in the account settings it now shows my Gold expires 1/12/2017, so it looks like the code worked despite the error message. Hopefully that is the case for others, worth looking there to double check.

direct copy and paste or typed? also make sure there's no space at the start if you paste the code as it can sometimes happen. also if you not stacked up for 36 months the error could be because of a credit card subscription (read online it happens) if so contact support they should deal with it for you.

i got various errors inputting my xbox code from Game earlier and i think the cause was my payment info on xbox was expiring soon...ie my credit card expires in March 2017, there was a message saying that can cause codes not to work so check yours.I updated mine to paypal.

And even though my code got rejected each time i then received an email from microsoft saying my account was updated by a year and all was well so not sure if the payment thing was the problem or not ?
