I suppose they're not bothered that the supermarkets repackage as their own because the psychology of medicinal items is that if you spend more it must work better, and that is the way most people assume it works, obviously it's the medicine plus the placebo effect.

Yes as you say, the other option is to buy paracetamol, can be had for 19p(16 tablets) and buy a pack of Sainsburys max strength congestion relief for 60p. Then drink something with caffeine.. By the time you buy all the lozenges and drops you would end up spending more. Can always stick your head over a bowl of hot water with vapour rub in it and breathe in the vapours, but not all that practical to do it at work.

What exactly is this stuff anyway? Wouldn’t you be better just stocking up on paracetamol and/or ibuprofen?

Paracetamol can be picked up for as little as 25p and about 30p for ibuprofen.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen can lower your temperature and also ease aches and pains. And make sure to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Decongestant drops, throat lozenges and saline nasal drops may also be helpful to ease nose and throat symptoms too.

You would also know if you had flu as you'd be bed bound. Trust me when I say it's no laughing matter, I should know, I've had it + vomiting + diarrhoea + dehydration. And the dehydration isn't fun either I can tell you.

That's the one the PL number! Couldn't remember what it was called. I'd never buy branded when I can get these considering they almost all contain the same active ingredients with very little variation but a big difference in pricing.
Please do, I might be wrong and it's a slightly different cold/flu product. But hey worth a look out of idle curiosity.

Yes they are, if look at the info above you can see all the shops using the same PL number for this product. I did look at a couple of the branded products, bit of a mixed bag, some use the same PL number others have the same active ingredients but a different PL number.
Have to have a look at home bargains..

Good price OP, I remember that all of these products actually have the same code on the side of them as they're made and packaged at the same plant. Also I believe Home Bargains sell it for 89p? I could be wrong. But just thought i'd say this as well.
