Strange. I recently finished an extension project and found wickes to be good quality stuff for very competitive prices + very fair returns policy. Something that cant be said abt B&Q, homebase, screwfix etc Infact i was surprised to find wickes often cheaper than trade merchants like Jewson and Travis perkins. Top company imho..

i have 62m2 of lvt to buy, if i make 12 orders of 100 online and pick up in store i could save a packet, would they turn me down if i also tried to do this instore? like printed off 12 vouchers and asked for 12 separate orders, if i go for delivered ofc i lose £5 per order =( do you think if i called up they would be willing to do it as a group saving over phone?

Did you have any success with this? I have a garage to stud out and was wondering if I could do several £100 orders and basically save 20% off the project. Cheers

#2. Is important for me because i was moving house and couldnt keep track of receipts. Screwfix outrightly refused to take back unopened products not even willing to issue a gift card. At wickes its always been straightforward even after 30 days (they just issue u a gift card). Even B&Q have a more flexible returns policy compared to Screwfix.

Thanks OP - just clicked on their website and noted that same deal online with codes of BLACK10 (£10 off) or BLACK20 (£20 off)
Well we find a common ground in Toolstation at least, great value there.
Point 1, is a bit like going to Nandos and saying its a rubbish restaraunt cos all they did was chicken. Its the very format of the store.
Point 2, 30 days is pretty standard across the board.
Point 3, interesting, yes possibly prices are creeping up, but does bring us back to the common ground, always worth checking toolstation as well.

Wickes and Screwfix have some overlap in their product range but essentially they are different type of stores specialising in different product types. Plus a few things i dont like abt Screwfix are:
1. Nothing is on display, so you have to queue up to be able to view something you 'may' buy (argos style).
2. You cant return anythhing outside 30 days and if you dont have the receipt (and/or they cant somehow link it to your account). Wherewas with Wickes it really is very good, you can return products months after purchase and without any receipt.
3. Screwfix is no longer as good value for money as it was used to be. Often same products are cheaper in Toolstation (which is just like a section in most Wickes stores now a days).
I rest my case

Fair enough about B&Q and Homebase, but Screwfix are excellent for prices and returns. Maybe you've got a bad branch, but make an account and you don't even need your reciept to return items as they have it all on record.
Could not disagree with you more on this one.

Last time this was on I bought all my radiators and copper piping. split my order into £100 lots so saved £20 on each order, think I added gutter clips for 19p or something to creep it above£100 on a couple of orders

Thanks f or this! I'm signed up but haven't received anything yet. Looking to replace 8 internal doors and due to sizing they are a nightmare to get on the cheap, 2 for £45 at wickes is the cheapest and even better with this offer
