Excellent price on a pack of 2 way push wire connectors. This price is almost if not, better than the cost of these on eBay. This is for a pack of 100 and with screwfix click and collect, there's no waiting around for postage!!
These are used to join electrical wiring, they replace a conventional 5a connector but a fraction of the time, these are rated at 10 amp I think.

Good price. Use these by the thousands. Very quick and efficient, if not maintainable.

So is that a completely different product?

Thanks, didn't know about these, looks a lot easier and neater than the traditional screw terminal blocks, heat added. (thanks to dpc1979 for the video links as well)

pictures show them protected inside a box , is that necessary in the loft or underfloor ?

always best to box them (doesn't have to be the wago specific one), but you could just wrap them in electrical tape if you preferred. i wouldn't leave them exposed though.

Wish I'd known about these before I started redoing the circuits in my house. Good price

Wiring shouldn't really have joints if it's done right everything should be wired "loop in" that way no joint boxes are needed and all fittings are easily inspectable, joint boxes are what electricians hate, have to rip the house apart if there is a fault!

Never even heard of these before, great idea, only negative I can see is they might be more bulky than normal blocks?

These are good but only work on solid wires, they're no good for normal threaded cables. You would need the lever type for that. Heat for the price.

Home wiring is supposed to be solid. "Threaded" as you refer is known as tri-rated and should really have ferrules on the ends.
Yes absolutely it's against regulations not too, also all joints must be inspectable.

It was my understanding that these are classified as permanent joints and so don't require inspecting. Instant through crimp if you will. Always good to be able to get at em though

That's the point of these, joints don't have to be accessible, although they have to be downrated if they aren't able to be inspected. Normal screw terminals MUST be accessible for inspection.
The manufacturers website explains the downrating. The new lever type connectors are also much smaller than the old ones and seem to be higher rated.

I would not sign off an installation without inspection of all joints as would most electricians. I realise they were introduced as a "maintenance free" joint box in 17th addition but best practice is still to wire loop in with no concealed joints.

There is a spring loaded tang at the rear that bites both cables.

Absolutely brilliant little invention, makes connecting lights and other connections equipment a total breeze...never again will I become stressed stood at the top of the ladder, on the landing, trying to fit several wires into one pendant light socket!

could these be used to join speaker wires?

Not these push in type but the lever type work well, I used the old bulkier ones (222 series) to install my roof mount DVD players in my car. The 221 series are more compact and do the same job with less chance of closing on your fingernail too I hope, as that hurts.

This is true but I've had to move certain lights and plugs.
I've redone the circuit where possible but have had to connext in certain places.
Luckily I will know where the joints are so if anything goes wrong I should be able to trace it.
OK so it isn't as convenient for click and collect but delivery is free if you are spending over a fiver. Personally I prefer delivered items to click and collect.
If you buy 100 you'll save yourself 1p against screwfix. If you want less than 100 you'll save a lot because you only pay for the number you want. If you are buying in bulk, you can buy 500 for a lower rate than screwfix at cpc too.

In those situations I always pull new cable t nearest socket or fitting to avoid joints.

Heat added even though I ordered 50 of the ones used in the video rather than from this link, and from CPC but without this deal I wouldn't have known these existed. Thanks.
